after close to four years at @openai, i moved from the bay area to india earlier this year. i still believe deeply in ensuring true superintelligence accelerates science and remains accessible and beneficial to all. having grown up here, i've also always felt deeply connected to the ecosystem here.
over the past several weeks, i've been speaking with researchers, engineers, and thinkers across india and apac. it's become clear that there are many who want to build the future from here. moving back felt like the counterintuitive choice. i no longer think that's true.
what's been missing is the belief that you can build institutions of global consequence from anywhere. and more importantly, the ambition and the will to pursue ideas that seem impossibly large at first. this may be a once in a generation opportunity.
more to come soon. DMs open if this resonates.
Kshitij, there’s a new investor-friendly destination on the outskirts of Bengaluru. It’s called Anantapur. 😉
We're building Space Cities, aerospace parks and ready-to-go industrial ecosystems so founders can spend their time building satellites instead of hunting for land. @AP_EDB please get in touch.

if you're the president of a country that isn't america rn the logical takeaway from the us/fable situation is:
1) we're entering the era of AI being a controlled military technology
2) if you don't develop your own you will become a vassal state of the US or China, even more than you already are
3) if chips are not export controlled to your country you should go buy 1 million B200s right now and start making some fat offers to researchers to move to your country
It's funny that most dating apps are now for not dating
All their issues would go away if you could verify someone is not in a relationship while swiping right
Insecure partners would happily give photos. Eventually cheaters get matched to each other
Sounds like a win-win
100% agree. Step 1 of sovereign AI is to secure the compute India needs + data centre stack because this is a bottleneck and will get a lot worse soon.
Models are secondary as they rapidly commoditize + open-source is close to the frontier
We’re launching Taan ai so everyone can one-shot music for their videos!
Music for this video was one-shotted on Taan. 👇🏼

Prediction: all closed AI model providers will stop selling APIs in the next 2-3 years. Only open models will be available via APIs.
Why? For an open model service, the value prop is clear...it's hard to build a scalable service to access the model and the model is commodity. The race-to-the bottom happened with the commodity already (model). Let AI app builders iterate on great UIs for apps upon scalable services with commodity capabilities
Closed model providers are trying to build non-commodity capabilities and they need great UIs to deliver those. It's not just a model anymore, but an app with a UI for a purpose.
If closed models are available via API, all it does is create competition for the app the closed provider is building. The secret sauce is capabilities + UI.
I was listening to the latest episode of @InvestLikeBest and it talked a lot about S-curves..
So I had Fable one shot a website that talked about all the S-curves, their inflection point & commentary on each being a bubble in the last 200 years.
