@1dish4theroad @mgs_1515 Thanks for the tip - I love following your foodie tips! Didn’t find Solly’s but adored the market.

Wonderful to be on Granville Island in Vancouver on what would have been the great Ian Bailey’s (GISB’s) 110th birthday. @mgs_1515

I’m very fortunate to have a paper copy. Haffy was a genius at versifying.

@GoldenVision90 I understand how you feel, Dave. I don’t know if you recognise a seasonal pattern to how you feel, but the older I get the worse I seem to be every winter. Roll on sunshine.

[Ian Thorpe @iant5151]

@Effectivebites Would you want to?

[Ian Thorpe @iant5151]

@DavidMHeaton If it’s this century you’ll be fine.

[Ian Thorpe @iant5151]

@1dish4theroad Well worth looking for instructions for quince jelly - rather a fussy process as I remember. Much easier is to add quince to apple in a 1:3 ratio in pies or crumbles - delicious!

[Mountain Weather @the_MWIS]

Cairngorm summit weather station has been reporting sub-zero temperatures all morning, minimum of -1C. NW'ly wind gusting to 50mph on the tops will feel very wintry and raw for mid-September! Clusters of showers feeding in from the north too. Anyone up there seen any snow today?

[James Hogg @JamesAHogg2]

Maggie Smith and Kenneth Williams read the first poem Sir John Betjeman ever had published, Death in Leamington, to Sir John Betjeman. Spellbinding.

I was very impressed to see a mile-long convoy of German Feuerwehr vehicles, including reservists, heading south on the m’way thro central France yesterday. With the wildfires reported there I take it they weren’t going on their hols.

[Ian Thorpe @iant5151]

@dr_musgrave Inspired perhaps by the Bredbury junction on the M60, where traffic joins the motorway by merging into the fast lane?

[Ian Thorpe @iant5151]

@DavidWhittworth @manchestervtLIB @Manchesterpast @MGS_Archives @McrHistory Excellent news - congratulations! I find the HKH collection fascinating and appreciate all the hard work you have done on it.

@Will_LJ @NHSDental Ouch! Hope you're soon pain-free. You deserve a beer.
