Through the @hiltonfound -funded Emergency Food Security Project, We conducted a two-day Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training for 50 farmers in Rebey village, Baidoa.

The training focused on practical farming techniques, soil and water management, pest and disease control, climate-smart agriculture and reducing post-harvest losses.

🌾 Supporting farmers to strengthen their livelihoods and resilience.

🤱Yesterday, as #WorldBreastfeedingWeek2026 came to an end, @gredosom reaffirmed its commitment to protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding through the #SHIP Consortium, with support from the @EU_in_Somalia and in partnership with @WVSomalia.

Mothers and fathers participated in awareness sessions at Waberi Health Centre in Burhakaba and Towfiq Health Centre in Qansaxdheere, strengthening their knowledge of breastfeeding and optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)practices.

By empowering families with practical knowledge and support, we can help children survive, grow, and thrive, while ensuring mothers receive the information and support they need to breastfeed successfully.

In a bold and unequivocal statement, the President of the Republic of Somaliland His Excellency @Abdirahmanirro responded to a recent letter by Somalia’s President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, addressed to the U.S. President Donald Trump. Hassan Sheikh’s letter included unfounded claims over the Port of Berbera and Berbera Airport, sparking a strong rebuttal from Somaliland’s leader, who described the remarks as “misguided, reckless, and detached from reality.”

“It is both surprising and absurd,” Somaliland’s President began, “that the President of Somalia, who struggles to maintain control over Mogadishu, is now attempting to meddle in the Republic of Somaliland’s affairs and stake claims over the Port of Berbera and its airport – sovereign assets that belong solely to Somaliland.”

He went on to clarify Somaliland’s firm stance on its sovereignty:
“I want to make it crystal clear to the international community, the President of the United States, and the world at large: Somaliland governs its land, its territory, and its airspace – the Republic of Somaliland is an independent, sovereign nation, and no one else has the right to dictate its affairs.”

In his statement, the President warned of the dangerous implications of Hassan Sheikh’s remarks.
“Somaliland views this statement, made by a leader who has failed to secure peace in Mogadishu, as reckless and potentially destabilizing to the peace and stability of the wider region – and we issue a strong warning against it.”

He then reminded the world of Somaliland’s historical sovereignty:
“Let me remind you that the Republic of Somaliland is a sovereign state that gained its independence from the United Kingdom on June 26, 1960. The Republic of Somaliland is governed by a democratic system where its people elect their leaders through a one-person, one-vote process.”

In his concluding remarks, the President sent a powerful and uncompromising message:
“The government of the Republic of Somaliland rests solely with its leaders and its people – and no one else can negotiate or stake a claim over our sovereignty. Somaliland is not up for negotiation, compromise, or external interference.”

This clear and decisive response underscores Somaliland’s unwavering commitment to its independence, self-governance, and rightful place as a sovereign nation in the international community.
