@EddieComeaux@GlobalSportMtrs Due to racism and anti-blackness, it is difficult for Black student athletes to succeed and experience a positive educational journey. The NCAA should make efforts to provide support systems that can support Black students in their academic success.
@Tiffany97182396 @besavageee I totally agree with your tweet! The NCAA should make efforts to hear and consider the feedback and criticism they receive in order to improve the academic environment for their student athletes. #ucr150@besavageee
Student athletes in colleges and institutions are treated poorly as the NCAA doesn't view them as students. The NCAA should take measures to hear the criticisms from their students and change their system to better support their athletes. #ucr150@besavageee
@Mandoiba@besavageee Hey Armando, I agree with your statement. It is ironic that the NCAA was created to protect their college athletes even though they really only care about their profits. #ucr150@besavageee
It is ironic and funny how the NCAA was created with an intention to protect their student athletes because of all the criticisms that state how the NCAA only cares for their profits. #ucr150@besavageee
@ynavarro091@besavageee HI Yazmin! I totally agree with you in that college athletes should be able to freely choose whether or not they want to stay or transfer to a different institution. The NCAA shouldn't treat the student athletes as employees. #ucr150@besavageee
I didn't realize how difficult it is for college athletes when transferring. College athletes should be able to easily transfer as they have the right to choose which institution and environment they want to be in. #ucr150@besavageee
@ynavarro091@besavageee Hi Yazmin, I totally agree with you! Education regarding concussions and its symptoms and consequences should be required for coaches as well as the college athletes. #ucr150@besavageee
It is alarming that as many as 50% of sport-related concussions go unreported due to a lack of knowledge of symptoms and consequences and lacking coach approachability. #ucr150@besavageee
@VanBui23@besavageee Hi Van! I agree with you in how women were given opportunities to participate in sports but how women are still facing inequalities in wage, treatment, and much more. #ucr150@besavageee
Title IX helped women to gain equal opportunities in sports. However, women are still fighting to gain equality in other factors like wage, treatment, etc. #ucr150@besavageee
@Mandoiba@besavageee Hi, Armando! I agree with your statement. I believe the scholarships and contracts can be misleading for the students which can only benefit the schools. #ucr150@besavageee
@angrodriguez_82@besavageee I agree with your perspective as I believe the amount of time and effort college athletes pour out cannot be measured and compared to the compensation given. #ucr150@besavageee
It doesn't make sense for the NCAA to state that college athletes shouldn't receive compensation to remain their amateur status. College athletes invest so much of their time and effort which cannot be easily measured with money. #ucr150@besavageee
@ccass015 @vtellez2022 @besavageee I agree with your tweet. Due to the large amount of time and effort spent, athletes deserve to get paid for playing their sport and representing their school. #ucr150@besavageee
I was able to realize that college student athletes may pursue playing because they truly enjoy their sport. However, due to the large amount of work, effort, time, money, etc., the sport turns into a form of occupation. #ucr150@besavageee
