Researcher at @CICERO_klima on climate mitigation scenarios, energy-economy modelling, use of scenarios in decision making, PhD @Cambridge_Uni, @CEENRG.
John Clarke, my previous advisor and co-author from UC Berkeley, won the Nobel Prize in Physics! John is not only brilliant, he is also a really kind and genuinely nice person to be around. It makes me very happy that someone like John won this prestigious award. Congrats!
New paper with @Peters_Glen in Nature Communications today. We show how models and studies with a lot of scenarios in the IPCC scenarios database have a large impact on key findings, including emissions reductions, net-zero GHG year, and coal, gas, and oil consistent with 1.5°C.
Different 1.5°C pathways come with different trade-offs, costs and benefits. The IPCC should focus more on identifying robust scenario relationships, while also conveying what we don’t know, and where there is disagreement in the scenarios literature.
I have an op-ed in Aftenposten (Norwegian) arguing that Norway & its petroleum company Equinor (67% ownership) say one thing, but do another.
Equinor has a plan for net zero, yet is full speed ahead on maintaining today's production levels.

How does hierarchy in economics impact the knowledge the discipline produces? One of our convenors (Jack Wright) asks in a new paper: https://t.co/xiC9l6ZdCs
