In Liberia, #mangroves provide important breeding and nursery areas for many West African marine species of fish, crab, shrimp and mollusks. Thus, mangrove loss negatively impacts fish stocks, leading to reduced food security, and increased dependence on bushmeat for protein.

A consultation meeting was held today with M.Muli Council and Kaashidhoo Council, regarding the Black Turtle (ކަންޒު ކަހަނބު) Management Plan that is being formulated. Discussions were held regarding the importance of resource use and ecotourism in wetland areas of both islands.
