Last week, I received a call from informing me that President #Trump had appointed me to the Commission on Presidential Scholars. My staff, excited by the news, publicly thanked President #Trump on X for the appointment. Big mistake.

The Nigerian government, already angry over my firm’s work exposing allegations that Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) was part of a group that smuggled #heroin from Nigeria into the United States during the 1980s and 1990s, seized upon the announcement and flooded the @WhiteHouse with calls, portraying my appointment as part of a proxy war against Nigeria.

NDC REAFFIRMS PRESENCE IN ALL 28 STATES: WE HAVE GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES FOR 2027

The Nigeria Democratic Congress ,NDC has been shocked to discover a false story and deliberate propaganda circulating in sections of the media and on social media claiming that the NDC does not have governorship candidates in 12 states ahead of the 2027 general elections.

We state categorically that this claim is false, malicious, a lie from the pit of hell, and intended to mislead Nigerians and undermine the growing momentum of the NDC nationwide.

For the avoidance of doubt, the NDC has duly nominated and has governorship candidates in all the 28 states where governorship elections will take place in 2027.

Our party is fully prepared, fully structured, and fully on ground in every state of the federation. The NDC is not a regional party. We are a national movement with candidates, structures, and supporters in all 36 states and the FCT.

To set the record straight, below are the NDC Governorship Candidates in the 12 states falsely listed in the propaganda:

A few days ago, I received unsolicited offers of $3 million, along with an invitation to a confidential meeting in London, from a highly placed individual whom I have been informed is connected to #Nigerian President Bola #Tinubu. I believe these offers were an attempt to persuade my firm to end our campaign concerning President Tinubu's alleged #heroin-trafficking records.

I refused the offers, immediately preserved screenshots of the exchanges, and forwarded all the evidence to the U.S. Department of Justice (@TheJusticeDept). It remains shocking to me that, despite the @FBI and #DEA's heroin-trafficking allegations concerning Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, @CNN , the @washingtonpost, and the @nytimes have never reported on this shocking story.

It seems The Washington Post’s slogan, “Democracy Dies in Darkness,” applies only when The Washington Post is scrutinizing President @realDonaldTrump and @Republicans. When it concerns the @JoeBiden Administration blocking the release of drug-trafficking documents concerning an African president, there is silence. True journalism in America is dead.

He also had numerous prominent political figures, including former governors, senators, and representatives.

Yet he received only about 800,000 more votes than Peter Obi, who entered the election with little more than a former presidential media aide as his director-general.

Today, none of those governors, representatives, and allied office-holders are still with Atiku.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi now has serving representatives, senators, and state assembly members, as well as two of the biggest political movements in contemporary Nigeria, going into the 2027 election.
