Data shared by the Revenue Department in response to my question in the J&K Assembly reveals a sharp regional divide in certificate issuance over the last two years.
SC: Jammu 99.2% | Kashmir 0.67%
ST: Jammu 87.2% | Kashmir 12.7%
OBC: Jammu 56.6% | Kashmir 43.4%
EWS: Jammu 88.5% | Kashmir 11.4%
RBA: Jammu 32.9% | Kashmir 67.1%
ALC: Jammu 85.2% | Kashmir 14.7%
These figures lay bare a stark regional disparity in the distribution of social category certificates, exposing a grave breach of fairness, equality, merit & administrative impartiality at the very core of J&K’s welfare framework. This is precisely why we have been calling for the rationalisation of the reservation policy, strictly in proportion to the population.
We all remember the 2014 floods, when almost the whole of Srinagar city went under water. GMC, the High Court, the Civil Secretariat, the AG Office, engineering complexes, and so many other offices. Back then, the government stepped in, rebuilt the Jhelum River embankments (1/n)
GMC Handwara has been shifted from Chogal to Nutnussa due to political interference. Now, the only hope lies with @MirJunaidJKWP ,who has the influence and ability to take action and set things right.🙌
She was a young medical student in her early 20s when her father was shot dead in cold blood in the turbulent 1990s. As the NC cadre was being systematically assassinated, left with no choice, she contested her first election from Kulgam district, then a hotbed of militancy.
Dear @CM_JnK students of J&K dream of pursuing technical education like Pharmacy, Nursing, Paramedical & Engineering in their own state. Please establish more such colleges so we can build our future without leaving our homeland. #JammuKashmir@JKNC_@JKSTUDENTSASSO@sajadlone
Airfares from Srinagar are extremely high, and many tourists are running low on funds. The government should arrange low-cost flights fromSrinagar to Jammu and Delhi.
The Home Minister is urged to promptly extend train services from Srinagar and Baramulla to Katra and Jammu. (3/N
