'I have never seen Gumi in my life. I am one of those that criticize Gumi every time. It is time to speak up for the sake of my children and I am going to take a legal action. It was someone that even told me Gumi was invited to the University of Ibadan and I questioned his coming. I called out the federal government for allowing him to walk freely..someone that is openly supporting band!ts. I was shocked to hear people saying I was the one that invited him
People left the federal government that didn't arrest him and started dragging me who had no relationship with him. I never invited him to Ibadan. I am a lover of humanity. To those saying I want to enforce sharia law, it is false. I am not against any religion and I will never force anyone to accept my religion. The children in my orphanage go to the church on Sundays. My employees are both Christians and Muslims. I have sent people to Jerusalem and Mecca. I HAVE NEVER MET GUMI IN MY LIFE' -Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat
So, exactly a week before her life was cut down, Kudirat Abiola was at an event in Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos and a journalist, Iyobosa Uwugiaren, cornered her for an interview.
In the course of the interview, the journalist asked her how she thinks Nigerians would react if she got k1lled by the military because of her support for her husband. Her reaction was: "I don't think they will do anything. They can only talk for a few days and enter their rooms. But I am not bothered. I gave my word that come rain, come sun, I am going to support him (Chief MKO Abiola), even it it is going to take my life."
In the course of the interview, she added: "What do they want me to do? Do they want me to drag myself on the floor for them for what is supposed to be our right? I will not do it. I will rather d!e than give up the struggle."
She also had dreams of how she was shøt by agents of the military government. Then, the th3eats started coming. And she severally announced to the world that she was being th3eatened.
A week after the interview, on June 4, 1996, Kudi was certainly shot by paid, hired gvnmen. Riding in a Mercedes Benz along with her personal assistant, Dr. Adesina, and her driver, Atanda Salami, she was on her way to a meeting with the Canadian High Commissioner when she was ambushed around 7-Up Junction, a little distance from a security post mounted by the officers of Operation Sweep.
At this time, her husband and winner of the June 12, 1993 election for whom she was fighting, was in prison in Abuja.
She was 44 and survived by seven children.

Do you remember Chidera Ikeoha, the youngster we found inside motor parks selling his book he wrote to feed and support his family?
Public donations for his book were channeled toward his education. The remaining funds will see him through to graduation.
We moved him from a public school and enrolled him in a private school in Enugu.
He is currently in SS1 and will enter SS2 in September.
Chidera is an A student determined and focused.
Supporting his education was a brilliant decision.
We have a star on our hands.
Dear Tobechukwu (SP Abraham),
Thank you for your feedback. While we love and admire the great commercial Igbo people of Nigeria for their contribution to the greatness of Nigeria and Lagos, Eko Atlantic City was, however, not the product of our beloved fellow citizens.
This project was entirely the brainwork and conception of then-Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Not even the Federal Government was involved.
In fact, the real purpose of the project, which is officially known as Nigeria International Commerce City, was to stop the encroachment of the sea into Victoria Island (Victoria Island should be changed to a Lukumi Yoruba name).
The project was funded by the Lagos State Government and its concessionary partners.
This is not even the first time the Lukumi people have accomplished such a feat. Before colonialism, Nana Olomu of Itsekiri sand-filled an entire creek, reclaiming land from the water, using 100% local ingenuity, and built a new town called Ebrohimi. This town served as the Itsekiri capital during the interregnum until the British fought Nana and destroyed Ebrohimi in 1894.
However, sir, it is possible that you have some previously unknown esoteric knowledge about persons of Igbo heritage, who are the real brains behind the project. If you do have these details, please could you help improve my education by making such information public.
Thanks again, Tobechukwu, and may God bless you.

Anambra: Security Update.
Fabulous is a billionaire motor spare parts dealer by day, but an unsuspected kidnapper by night! a popular businessman in Mgbuka Market Obosi, Anambra State.
This handsome looking rich guy was unknowingly operating a deadly kidnapping gang in a big duplex compound he built for that purpose His beautiful wife is aware of his illegal dealings. Both of them live in this particular big house where Fabulous erected a shrine, keeps his kidnapped victims, and as well as dismantle stolen cars of every model and sells them in parts. On Sunday morning, police tracked a stolen car to his house. When they arrived, Mr. Fabulous and his boys opened fire on them from the gate .

APC Primary: Tinubu Wins 100% in Zulum’s Ward
President Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant for the 2027 general elections, has recorded a clean sweep in Mafa Ward of Borno State – the home ward of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
The direct primary election was conducted at Mafa Central Primary School and presided over by the Chairperson of the Presidential Primary Election Committee, Inna Alkali Imam.
Tinubu polled 2,175 votes out of the total number of votes cast, representing 100% of all valid votes in the ward. Mafa Ward has 2,277 registered party members, and the exercise saw an impressive turnout, with nearly all registered members participating in the primary.
The other contestant, Stanley Osifo, a businessman and APC chieftain from Edo State, scored zero votes.
JAMB GETS NEW REGISTRAR
A new Registrar has been appointed for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as Prof. Is-haq Oloyede bows out on 31st July, 2026.
Prof. Segun Aina, a renowned Computer Engineering expert with vast experience in data-driven institutional processes, will assume office on 1st August, 2026.
He was actively involved in the early stages of the introduction of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) system in the Board.
Prof. Aina is not new to the operational ecosystem of the Board, having played a key role during the formative stage of the CBT regime, which has transformed the conduct of examinations in Nigeria.
Over the years, the Board has been fortunate to have Registrars with world-class experience whose leadership has continued to move the organisation from strength to strength.
The Management and staff of the Board congratulate Prof. Aina and look forward to receiving him as he assumes duty.

More than 1.5 million Nigerian students are now benefiting from @NELFUND - now the biggest and fastest growing public student loan scheme in Africa.
More than 280 billion Naira disbursed so far, in fees and upkeep allowances.
Another promise fulfilled by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
I just watched this disturbing video of nursery school pupils of Community Primary School, Umuora Obulechi, Oriuzor, in Ezza North LGA of Ebonyi State, receiving lessons in their terrible classroom.
The government just suspended the teacher and principal for letting someone show the rot in this school.
This same state spent billions sending a handful of persons to the UK for education while ignoring the poor children and poor families.
Let’s find the suspended teachers and support them.
We can pay them a year salary each and find other ways to support them.
For the government that suspended them, shame on you.
Fix this school for Christ sake and don’t be wicked to these children.
The medical students who wrote 2021-MB were forced to sort between N1m - N1.5m and those who refused to pay the money failed and were asked to withdraw.
The Abia State Government are already investigating this.
Justice will be served.
We will restore integrity!
STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE
PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS PROFESSOR SEGUN AINA AS NEW JAMB REGISTRAR
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), succeeding Professor Is-haq Oloyede, whose two-term tenure expires on July 31, 2026.
Professor Aina, who will be 40 in July, is a distinguished academic and systems expert with extensive experience in national examination systems, digital infrastructure, and public-sector institutional reform.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, an MSc in Internet Computing and Network Security, and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing, both from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. He has also completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.
A Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Aina began his career with JAMB during his National Youth Service, gaining foundational experience in national admissions and data-driven institutional processes. These insights have shaped his ongoing contributions to examination reform and systems optimisation.
With over 15 years of post-graduation experience, Professor Aina operates at the intersection of technology, policy, and institutional transformation, advising federal and state governments on system design, digital transition, and operational reform. At 39, he became one of Nigeria's youngest Computer Engineering professors and will now make history as JAMB’s youngest registrar.
He has served as a consultant to major examination bodies, including NECO, NABTEB, and various State Ministries of Education, providing expertise on ICT systems, examination integrity, and digital process optimisation.
Professor Aina is a member of several professional bodies, including the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
President Tinubu expects Professor Aina to bring to bear his vast experience, knowledge and practical insight into the operations of the Board, to take the critical educational organisation beyond the laudable heights achieved by his predecessor.

.
Two years ago, we created a CAD/CAM laboratory for the mechanical engineering department at my alma matter, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. At the time, the idea was to create a space where students could move beyond theory and get hands-on exposure to design, prototyping, and practical engineering tools. We did this same thing at my Co-founder, Felix's alma mater, University of Lagos, with the HatchDev Program in Nithub.
Since then, it has been encouraging to see how students have used the spaces. Beyond just learning software or technical processes, it became a place where people collaborated across disciplines, experimented with ideas, worked on projects outside the classroom, and developed practical confidence in their abilities. For many students, this access was their first real exposure to the kind of tools and environments they would eventually encounter in industry.
The effect of this is why I’m excited to expand this across universities and STEM courses. We are launching a network of innovation hubs across Nigerian public universities designed to give students access to practical technology training, mentorship, modern tools, and collaborative workspaces.
Next week, I’ll be sitting with the Vice-Chancellors of these institutions as we formally begin this journey. Tosin Eniolorunda

I am really troubled by the consistent report we have been getting from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli, Anambra State.
Sorting, sex for grades, extortions, intimidations, robbery, rapes, killings, misconducts, etc.
Anambra State Governments should setup an urgent investigation team for that institution.
The current Vice Chancellor is heavily accused of an app that forces students to mandatorily pay N15,000 and anyone who doesn't pay will pay a penalty of N35,000.
Students can't continue to bear the brunt. Things have to change quickly.
JAMB RELEASES 279 UTME RESULTS PREVIOUSLY HELD FOR INVESTIGATION
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 results from those previously held for further investigation. This is in addition to the results earlier released by the Board.
The release follows ongoing investigations into cases of suspected examination malpractice. While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates.
Results from centres where the Board’s live monitoring team observed suspicious activities, or where adverse reports were received, remain withheld pending further investigation. Where sufficient evidence of culpability is established, such results will be cancelled.
Candidates whose results have not yet been released are advised to check their status by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used for registration to view their released results.
