First Police said to get on the sidewalk, then to get off the sidewalk into the park and now said the park closed at 9 after telling the group to go into the park. Several protesters are bleeding after getting shot very close range with rubber bullets.
@billpeduto It’s called streaming real time radio and body cams. If you have done nothing wrong you have nothing to hide right? That’s what I keep hearing.
@billpeduto You have the video. Stop stalling. Start taking responsibility for YOUR officers kidnapping civilians. Name the, fire them and repossess their pensions.
@CoreyOConnorPGH I’m glad to hear that you recognize that systemic rascism exists in police departments and state sponsored murder is a problem. I would like to hear how you plan to address this issue with the city council.
@billpeduto He “will” put together a “broad coalition” to address racism in Pittsburgh. He “will” because one doesn’t exist yet. Because he didn’t feel like racism was a problem in Pittsburgh that needed to be tackled until now apparently. After several days of protest.
@PghPublicSafety They might not be but let’s not forget that SWAT teams are private entities not subject to ANY of the (underwhelming) accountability laws as municipal or state police. So watch out everyone, @billpeduto has hired mercenaries to patrol our streets.
Advocate for justice. Advocate for black lives. Advocate for Pittsburgh. Stop defending violent police and then complaining when the police incite violence. You have lost my vote. #pittsburghprotest
@billpeduto, @PghPublicSafety let’s talk about “outside agitators”. How many of the cops that showed up yesterday actually live in Pittsburgh? Probably not many. (Thanks @SupremeCtofPA for once again putting police above people and Pittsburgh tradition)
You talk a lot about “outside agitators” but nothing about police brutality against black lives. Stop equivocating. Start explaining. You have to decide whether the police should be a state sanctioned gang or be held accountable. There is no middle ground.
