Physics has a clean division of labor between theorists and experimentalists. AI doesn’t, and as a result we have a lot of bad experiments from theorists and bad theory from experimentalists.

I want to read up on the current state of interpretability research. What are the best papers out there? I have a particular preference for papers that try to formally define their goals.
