@SarahTheHaider I also found this introduction unfortunate. But the full article is actually amazingly good, honest, straightforward. Sure, there's some self-righteous irony to it, but the arguments are clearly the focal point, and they're well stated. Everyone should read it.
@arpitrage This is not true tho. The table on the left mentions states, not cities. Lula won both in Rio de Janeiro (the city, not the state) and São Paulo (the city, not the state), the two biggest cities in the country.
@sp6runderrated This may be dumb, but can't the solution be to create a few schools specialized in dealing the bad kids? They don't have to be absolutely abandoned, they just need to not drag everyone around them to hell
@fstflofscholars In my country this is quite easy? Universities are mostly open to all, and you can just ask professors if you can attend classes as a visitor/guest. Some may refuse, some classes may be completely full, etc. But as a general thing, this path is absolutely available.
@AaronBergman18 In Brazil, the courier service is usually done by bike (or even by foot if the distance is small enough), so that definitely impacts the price too. Is it always cars in your area?
@ElonBachman I don't quite get your point. Do you think every white South African is British and every white South American is European?
Errol is clearly South African, but at least he had a British mother. Both of Borges' parents were Argentinian though.
Unnacceptable UX on @substack app. Can't deselect text, extremely laggy overall, impossible to come back to a text you were reading after pressing back. Substack is 99% text, HTML solved this ages ago!!!
