The keto diet reduced liver fat and improved liver insulin sensitivity more than two higher-carbohydrate diets in a recent ~5-month study.
Liver fat fell 67% versus 45% on both Mediterranean and low-fat plant-forward diets. Liver insulin sensitivity improved 2-3x more with keto, and half of the keto group achieved remission of prediabetes (vs. 29% on Mediterranean and 7% on the plant-forward diet).
This despite weight loss being virtually identical across all three diets - about 10% after ~5 months!
Weight loss improved metabolic health regardless of diet, but macronutrient composition clearly influenced where and how much those metabolic improvements occurred.
@ky__zo I take same magnesium at bedtime, but also zinc, boron, 1mg melatonin. seems to do the trick. also gaba and Phosphatidylserine at dinner time but i am less consistent with that.
didn't sleep well. oura scored it 60 with ~5h 16m and only 22 min deep (hrv 24). garmin on the same sync still says 68, 6h 42m, 51 deep, hrv 35. same night, two stories.
