So @YouTube still partnering with #Afrochella after the sex offender scandal proves that Global Brands hold double standards about their brand on the African Continent or outside. The same applies to activists and celebrities.
@Amelia_Torode I know this might not be as reknown as others, but Nivea promoting skin lightening cream in Ghana and finally getting dragged as they deserve https://t.co/4FgTyxnooO
“The ‘Universe’ shows us how people really are.
And we often say ‘No, maybe it’s not like that.’
And so the ‘Universe’ goes: ‘I’m going to show again… stupid.’
And it keeps going until we stop being stupid. If we stop being stupid.” 👽
I came to Documentary Photography from Advertising. During the very first Master Class, my istructure said: “Your photos are too beautiful. The colors are too bright. May be, you should go and sell postcards.” I’d take postcards over pietas by vultures any day.
Crazy thing about the internet is someone w/just 1,000 very dedicated followers has more influence on the world now vs a random celeb w/Ms of barely-conscious NPCs. No models account for this in marketing they throw $ at all the wrong people. Zero competition influencer strategy
Dear SP. WTF? From distinctive flair to mediocrity beige. Another example of the industries financially-driven brand asset obsession. Choosing category consistency over cultural individuality. Or said another way, marketing down to a price not up to a quality. #NoMoreSparkle
Ghana has 40 traditional cathedrals. 24 owned by the Catholics. 11 by Anglicans. And the rest by Methodists. It also has at least 124 cathedral-scale christian worship centers. However, for some strange reason, none of them are attracting enough tourists, so a new one is coming.
We live in a world
where people are singing out of tune
And the audience is so
Dumb they don’t care.
And this could be a metaphor of life but it’s actual reality.
But also such a powerful metaphor. 👽
