The sons of imprisoned former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan are revealing the horrific conditions their father endures in Rawalpindi's Adiala prison, and asking why the cricket world has said nothing.

Khan led Pakistan to their only 50-over World Cup title in 1992 and sits in the ICC Hall of Fame.

Yet there's been no official statement from England, Australia, or the Indian-dominated ICC as one of the sport's greatest icons wastes away in solitary confinement.

According to information shared with the UN, Khan, 73, spends 22 hours a day in a "death cell" normally reserved for death row inmates.

Small, poorly ventilated, no natural light, extreme temperatures, insect infestations.

Sometimes electricity is cut.

Sometimes reading materials are denied.

"The water that he showers in is not just dirty, but discolored," says his son Kasim.

"A dozen prisoners in that jail have died of hepatitis, and all of them were supporters of his political party."

Over 200 cases have been filed against him.

"Each time one case is overturned, two or three are put on him. It's just a way to delay any resolution."

His sons Kasim and Sulaiman traveled to Washington to meet Richard Grenell seeking help.

"He's 73.

It's hard to know whether we're even going to see him again."
