This is a great resource for those who have a hard time with gatherings due to the food available. Food can be a major trigger for patients and can impact their health and ability to enjoy their time. @beh353#beh353

In the future as a healthcare professional; i plan on making nutrition a big priority in my patients health. Whether it’s helping to guide them to healthy eating or emphasizing the importance of getting our vitamins, nutrition is vital to our health
#beh353@beh353
As a future hygienist we have been taught how diet can be a risk factor for different conditions and we sometimes need to do nutritional counseling with them. Knowing what type of accurate resources I can provide patients with is so important to their care. @beh353#beh353
The one thing Emma said that really stuck with me that isn’t necessarily nutrition based is it’s ok to make mistakes. I myself am a perfectionist and can get down when I do make a mistake. But they are chances to learn and grow @beh353#beh353@EmmaDArpinoRD
I agree with this completely! In my major we do a few events where we work with other majors to assist in taking care of a patient. Being able to collaborate with other professions will provide a patient with only the best care possible. @beh353#beh353
It’s important to consult other professionals when making a touch decision. This type of exchange between healthcare professionals is emphasized by @EmmaDArpinoRD as family doctors and dietitians can start working together early for an individuals health.

This article ties in nicely with what we leaned this week regarding nutrition with children. I imagine it can be very challenging to manage a child’s diet or who struggles with IBD as they may have strong food preferences. @beh353#beh353
📣 What's new in the dietary management of paediatric Crohn's disease?

https://t.co/QkpRtwzCUW I like this article because it gives parents an easy guide to feeding their toddlers nutritious and appropriate foods for their age group. It provides a friendly overview for both nutrition and activity and even gives a few helpful tips! @beh353#beh353
I really enjoyed this article and would happily share it with parents of children I may see. Nutrition plays into many aspects but especially seeing how it can affect one’s attention span.

This really ties into what we learned this week. Ozempic has really taken to social media and been all the talk. But doctors I feel so know best on a health level. Someone’s image can really alter their perception of themselves and their mental health @beh353#beh353
It stood out to me that fat shaming can lead to shame & depression. I also learned about the stats that were present in the video such the percentage of genders being affected w obesity. I will use this moving forward by enforcing healthy eating for my family & I. #beh353@beh353
While watching James Corden respond to fat shaming, nothing was exactly new info. Rather what stuck with me was how there are so many factors that can play into someone’s weight. Even something as simple as genetics, that can’t be controlled. @beh353#beh353
The barrier I face is pricing for unhealthy vs healthy foods. As a full time student I am not bringing in a ton of money/very little time. Its cheaper to buy frozen meals, rather then buy the fresh and better ingredients and make it myself #beh353@beh353
I totally agree with this. As someone in the same position including an on campus job, it is very hard to make adequate meals. Especially coming back from a full day of classes and having to get right to studying or homework #beh353@beh353
The barrier I would relate to the most is the lack of time to plan, shop, and prepare meals. Being a full-time student with an on-campus job can make it difficult to create healthy meals. Making healthy meals can be hard, especially without a nearby food market. #beh353@beh353
This is something many people, face with insurance. Many insurances even prefer switching to biosimilar meds because they are cheaper despite what the patient wishes. Even in dental, many can’t get care due to lack of insurance/cost of care #beh353@beh353
Super interesting read. Lots of people suspect processed foods to have adverse health effects. But this study breaks it all down. Those consuming ultra processed foods have found higher links to things such as cardiovascular disease/mortality #beh353@beh353
So many supplements tend to be combined together! I think the same way with my diet, I’m usually not eating 3 meals a day so my daily supplements help ensure I’m getting a good balance. #beh353@beh353
I take a B-complex tablet daily and I was surprised to see how many vitamins and minerals were in it aside from Vitamin B1, B2, and B12! This helps me achieve my daily intake of vitamins especially if I'm not eating 3 nutrient-dense meals. #beh353@beh353
A great article on what supplements really are and how beneficial they can be for someone’s health especially with having a nutritional diet. Breaks down all of the different types and forms. #beh353@beh353

A great article that ties into what we just learned in week 6 and about reliable sources. Sometimes Google isn’t the best place to search for the unknown especially when it comes to what we put into our body. @beh353#beh353
Many food labels are misleading, fearmongering, marketing, far fetched, or just plain lies! To sell a more expensive food product. Food corporations should be able to sell based on what they do better or different without slandering competitors.

This is a great article that relates to this week bc it gives a healthful nutrition change. Often people don’t cook/eat fast food bc it takes too much time leading to unhealthy choices. This shows a healthy option which only took 10 mins to make & it looks tasty! @beh353#beh353
