Not sure, but it really shouldn’t have been needed. All the scriptures focus on Christ, including the new ones. The focus of every weekly sacrament meeting is on the sacrament, which is focused on Christ. Family home evenings were focused on Christ. But I think they’re still misconceptions i.e. even your tweet that set off this thread. So so perhaps it makes it clear to external audiences who we are.
@WordandWitness@Thatbrian It’s too bad your pastor has indoctrinated you with that idea. Because it’s actually incredible in its power to bring all to Christ.
You got me there, Bobby. Never heard that before. :) Seriously though, the spread of the gospel of Christ throughout the world is incredible. You should see also the change that comes into the lives of most of these young people after dedicating two years to teaching about Christ. It’s what the great commission is all about.
He is saying the same thing. Read the whole quote in context. I’m a Latter-day Saint, not Catholic, but agree with this quote. Only Christ can save us, but many faiths can bring us to God where we eventually find Christ. Get to know hood and Godly people of other faiths. They are God’s children just like you.
@swimmermomma@GodlyAction Exactly. But they may have died in that category without knowing of Christ or having the chance (like the many who lived before Christ was born, or even after and were never taught of Him). He has provided a way for them to be saved too. https://t.co/1E2orO9Dsj
@ChadTheBad Doesn’t hurt us if you use it. We are correcting the name and will continue to happen over time, but it’s not offensive. It’s been amazing to see the impact of reinforcing the correct name of the Church.
@WWUTTcom “Regardless of what man says” is the operative word here. God has spoken and still speaks. The heavens are open and His work is moving forward!!
