Audio and minor visual glitches are fixed now
Visual glitches just required retakes via https://t.co/RxlnVOzF97 mcp
Audio fixes required Seed-VC restoration with the correct reference voice. Can run locally, but used @modal for speed
Enjoy. Ep. 2 is loading
Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test.
48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video.
It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
David Sacks says the Wall Street Journal quoted the Anthropic whistleblower's tweet storm 18 minutes before it was posted
[ But do you think it was like a premeditated coordinated effort? ]
"We know that this was a coordinated media campaign. It wasn't just a spontaneous tweet. How do we know that? Because the Wall Street Journal ran a story quoting his tweet storm 18 minutes before that tweet storm was printed. So, how could the Wall Street Journal have done that? They had the tweet storm in their hands before Jacob Coxon ever posted it. So, obviously that was coordinated. He worked with them on it. That was set up."
[ Well, you could also argue that that is a so called whistleblower trying to get their message out. ]
"Sure. And that's what I'm saying... he tried to get his message out. It got out. It was amplified by certain groups. And I think it's pretty clear now. This definitely plays into a larger political agenda."
Big Short investor Steve Eisman says the AI labs know they have no moats and are manufacturing a crisis to get regulation that hands them a duopoly
"I think this is all nonsense."
[ You think it's all nonsense? ]
"All nonsense. I think that there's something else completely going on here. ... What I think is happening is that token maxing is over. The open weight models are taking big market share. I think these companies are very nervous. They realize that there are no moats around their business whatsoever, and they're trying to manufacture a crisis that will create regulation, and that they think they can then manipulate to create the moats, to create the duopoly that they want."
[ Wow. ]
"That's what I think is going on."
"Honestly, I think this whole Terminator thing is garbage. That's for sure."
.@DavidSacks makes a good case here that the “AI will kill humanity” headlines were orchestrated: they leaped into mainstream media from the dormant X account of an Anthropic employee who quit after six weeks. David names purported perpetrators and calls out the role @WSJ played.
Translation: our gross margins are getting competed down to 0 by open source models and our capex burn rate is too high.
Let’s maintain our margins with regulatory capture, ban open source models, and slow down the capex arms race. All with a virtue signaling cherry on top.
Never fuck over someone who is in founder mode.
The chip on the shoulder will never fade, and their revenge arc will be on an order of magnitude you could have never imagined.
Huh? Starbucks is a retail sugar company.
If he is serious, here is what it would mean to be “all in on AI”:
A) all drinks made by robots by 2030 (Optimus or Figure)
B) deprecating legacy Software Industrial Complex licenses (SBUX is probably paying billions per year in software licenses)
C) all corporate software rebuilt using a modern SDLC (corollary to B, rebuild everything to be custom, easy to maintain and migrate)
D) add Starlink to every location, give away Wifi, cut prices by 25% and grow
E) RIF 50% headcount if A-D don’t work
