@HankFrank@SahilBloom@Brady_H I always thought it was accounting for the fatigue from the recent event when I saw stuff like this. Probably you would be a few minutes slower a week later. Am I giving it too much credit?
@HankFrank I’d try the Seattle / Pacific Northwest. In some ways it’s similar to Boston in terms of standard of living, services, etc. But it’s such a different place and the outdoor culture is great. Maybe Boulder/Denver?
@DavidDack 24:25 at 47. Just started running two years ago. I’m still working on shaving more time off. I don’t know how low I can get it but I know I have more work I can do.
@HankFrank A little late, but why not look at Millinocket, Maine in early December. This one seems really special (I haven't done it but have only heard great things): https://t.co/QFGErw4lRX t - -. .
@runliftrunlift Yes indeed; it’s one thing to hear it and understand it intellectually, another to actually feel it and see it work. And it felt amazing to finish strong — passing folks and picking up the pace. Trying to take the lessons to London in two weeks.
@mitchellh I guess I'm lucky I fly in/out of a big airport, but I always do this with different airlines to avoid this issue (e.g,. have a Delta flight at 1, a JetBlue at 3, etc.).
@danielcberk I relate, Daniel. Started running in May 2025 at 45 years old. Best I could muster was a 11:30 minute mile. Haven't tested in a bit, but broke 7 minutes back in September. Done a few halfs and two marathons and gearing up for Philly this weekend. Consistency has been the key!
@jasonfried@drumeo This is such a great series. I have three favorites I watch. Megadeth drummer doing Killers (https://t.co/KXOld7MKl4), Jess Bowen doing Rage (https://t.co/SFZepVHY76), and my favorite, Ulysses Owens doing The Offspring, then reviewed by their drummer (https://t.co/4q6YTXfVep)
@bananafitz It's one that @meganganz pitched during a This American Life episode that was visiting for the week- - not sure it ever even made it into the paper. "Spork Used As Knife". https://t.co/UzamcItNWJ
I had a nice easy 20 mile long run last weekend. Consistent pace throughout, about 1:30 / 2 mins slower than I would want to be in a race. After about a year of training, it was the first time I really felt this way you are describing — yes, it took time, but it didn’t destroy me and I didn’t feel worse at the end than I did at the beginning. It felt great… very reassuring in my build up to Chicago in October.
@typesfast@realEstateTrent Not sure what a backyard one is like but they had these all over the streets in Copenhagen. They were great! Seemed pretty safe!
@marcusleshock@DrewDisneyDude My son loved it. He continued to build and design cars in the after ride area for an hour then wanted to go back the next day. I hope they still have some interactives like that in the exit area. I get not wanting it in the queue.
