The photograph shows a person wearing a uniform displaying NSCN-IM and Naga Army insignia. If, as alleged, this individual is an active NSCN-IM cadre, his identity and affiliation should be independently verified by the competent security agencies.

This is not a matter to be settled through social-media arguments. Verify the photograph. Identify the individual. Establish his affiliation and activities. Examine whether he has any connection to any crime or attack.

Recent reporting confirms that security forces are conducting counter-insurgency operations against suspected NSCN-IM cadres in Manipur, including the arrest of two people suspected of being NSCN-IM cadres in Tamenglong.

At the same time, allegations regarding attacks on civilians must be investigated individually and on the basis of evidence. Recent reports have carried allegations by Kuki-Zo organisations that Naga insurgent groups were responsible for particular attacks, while the full facts remain a matter for investigation.

No selective investigation. No collective blame. No scapegoating of an entire community.

If an armed individual is responsible for a crime, investigate that individual and prosecute on the evidence. If the allegations are unsubstantiated, establish that through a proper investigation. Justice cannot depend on community identity.

The Government of India, NIA, CBI, Manipur Police and Central security forces should examine all available evidence and establish the truth.

IDENTIFY. VERIFY. INVESTIGATE. HOLD THE ACTUAL PERPETRATORS ACCOUNTABLE.

It is a matter of serious concern that you continue to hold the Kuki-Zo community responsible for every untoward incident, while being unable to resolve internal matters within your own household.

For your kind information, the deceased, Mr. NK. Wiphenbou, aged 17 years, had joined the Tangkhul-led secessionist narco-terrorist group NSCN-IM in the year 2024. The place of occurrence is located on Takou Road, between the illegal camp of the Tangkhul NSCN-IM and its allied ZUF (Kamson) camp.

The Kuki-Zo Village Volunteers have never operated in that area, nor do they have any intention of venturing into such a remote and godforsaken terrain. I would, therefore, earnestly request you to conduct a thorough and honest investigation into the matter before making such baseless statements in the public domain.

I once again humbly appeal to the people of Chandel, Senapati, Tamenglong, and Noney districts to rise from their comfort zones and expel the Tangkhul NSCN-IM and its mouthpieces from their respective areas. How long will you continue to remain a silent spectator to such bloodshed in your own homeland?

TANGKHULS CAUGHT IN THEIR OWN TRAP

1. It may be noted that following the Hongbei Massacre of 28th March, 2026, wherein four cadres of the NSCN-IM (Eastern Flank) were massacred by the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM, Mr. Sword Vashum, President of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), has sought to shift the entire burden of Tangkhul bloodshed perpetrated by the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM onto the peaceful coexistence prevailing in the districts of Kangpokpi, Senapati, Tamenglong and Noney, where tensions continue to simmer. Meanwhile, life in Ukhrul and Kamjong continues undisturbed, as if nothing had transpired.

2. Similarly, after his recent remarks concerning Dr. S.C. Jamir — a beloved son and a widely respected leader of Nagaland and of Nagas across the globe — proved counterproductive, Mr. V.S. Atem and Mr. R.H. Raising are now directing their attention towards Chandel and Tengnoupal. This development may well signify the eventual collapse of the propaganda machinery of the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM.

3. The people of Nagaland have begun to realize how refugees from Ukhrul, belonging to the Tangkhul community, have severely undermined the peaceful administration and financial stability of the State of Nagaland.

4. Numerous eminent personalities from the Naga community, including journalists, social workers, church leaders and politicians, have been killed without any justification by the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM over the past five decades. The list is endless.

5. Dr. S.C. Jamir has categorically stated that the 2015 Framework Agreement between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India does not contain any provision for sovereignty, integration or a separate flag, although leaders of the NSCN-IM have been misleading the public by proclaiming demands for a separate flag, currency and sovereignty on various platforms.

6. The people of Nagaland have started questioning the leadership of the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM and demanding that it disclose its clear agenda and real intentions, rather than continuing to mislead the people of Nagaland. The people of Nagaland are now urging both the Central Government and the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM that whatever demands are being made should be applicable only to Manipur and not to Nagaland.

This five-year-old child has no association whatsoever with any group, nor has he ever condemned Thuingaleng Muivah, V.S. Atem, R.H. Raising, or the entity referred to as Nagalim.

STOP THE FALSE NARRATIVE — INVESTIGATE THE FACTS

The killing of Nk. Wiphenbou must not be turned into a weapon for spreading an unverified communal narrative. Reports confirm that the 17-year-old was killed in the Tamei area on 21 September 2026, but the identity of those responsible remains under investigation.

If the evidence shows that Nk. Wiphenbou was an active NSCN-IM cadre, that fact should be investigated and established through credible evidence. His alleged organisational association, however, does not by itself establish who killed him.

What is unacceptable is presenting “KukiCommunity killed him” as an established fact when the available reports themselves say the perpetrators had not been confirmed. Even reports carrying allegations against suspected Kuki armed groups acknowledge that those allegations could not be independently verified.

Do not manufacture facts.
Do not turn an unverified allegation into communal blame.
Do not use a young person's death to spread misinformation.

The demand should be simple:

FULL INVESTIGATION.
IDENTIFY THE ACTUAL KILLERS.
PRESENT THE EVIDENCE.
TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THOSE RESPONSIBLE.

If anyone has credible evidence linking a particular individual or organisation to this killing, let that evidence be placed before the investigating authorities. Justice must be based on evidence—not propaganda, assumptions, or collective blame against an entire community.

A CALL FOR IMMEDIATE, IMPARTIAL INVESTIGATION

The poster circulating online makes serious allegations against Jimmy Rongmei, including an alleged call for violence against Kuki-Zo civilians and the reported statement that children and pregnant women should not be spared.

Such allegations are extremely grave and should not be ignored, regardless of the identity or community of the person involved. If the statements are authentic, they warrant immediate verification, identification of the source, preservation of digital evidence, and investigation under applicable law by the competent authorities.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), Manipur Police, and other appropriate law-enforcement agencies should examine the available audio, video, messages, phone records and other evidence impartially. Any person found responsible for inciting or facilitating violence against civilians must be dealt with strictly according to law.

Justice must be based on evidence. Accountability must be impartial. The protection of every civilian—especially women and children—must come first.
