Do you get mind blown over how little customer service reps actually think about customer service?
Or is it just me?
Flew into Atlanta last night and made my way to pickup my rental.
There was a gigantic sign that encouraged everyone to scan a QR code and skip the line.
So I opted to not get in line, worked my way through the self check out only to have it error out at the end.
I then cut the line to ask a rep what I should do and the rep was incredulous because I was asking her about an online thing.
Zero help there.
Got in line and waited my turn.
Mentioned it to a different rep and she said that it had been doing that all day.
I asked her why they didn’t put a sign over the sign (or take it away) and all she gave me was a blank stare.
Everyone did the QR code to be faster but it did the opposite, it made for delays.
Blows my mind how little thought people give to actually being helpful especially when it’s their job.
(Not complaining, just commentary 😅)
“You have a 15 year old business and you’re not doing any sales or marketing?”
I know.
It’s outrageous.
Really, I get it. (And I guess that’s how we all know that I’m more of an ops guy and less of a sales guy).
But, in my defense, electronics recycling is quite complex and is demand constrained.
The hardest part is sourcing and getting more customers.
IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Services is complex because your have two customers sets:
1. your upstream, where you’re sourcing material from
2. your downstream, where your selling material to
There’s a lot of bandwidth burn in ops, making it really hard to slow down and sell.
But we recently added new senior admin support and marketing services for lead gen.
Stoked for some much needed margin and to press the gas on biz dev.
Always learning, amped for 15 years — onward and upward!
@CoFoundersNik My mom did this when I was around ten but with cigarette butts since we live on a busy-ish intersection.
I racked up some huge # and she only paid a % of it.
I was bent since it took forever to pick them up one at a time (to count them) rather than just sweeping them up.
You ever have a week that feels hecka low on the productivity side of things?
Welp, that was me this week.
The biz (@PXS_ITAD) is slow and have a (relatively) empty warehouse.
When that happens my plate gets even fuller and, with all the competing priorities, it doesn't feel like meaningful headway gets made on any one thing.
Add to that that I took Wednesday off for a float day with a bro.
Managed to dump the kayak, loose my iphone 17 pro max and get fiercely sunburnt 🤦🏻♂️🥵
Stoked to regroup and prep for a new EA from South Africa starting next week.
Really tho, the river was epic and I'm crushing through @patricklencioni's The 6 Types of Working Genius, book.
It's blowing my mind and, the best part, it's narrated by Ray Porter, who also narrates @JackCarrUSA's The Terminal List series, which I've spent many hours in.
I can't help but think of James Reese, the protagonist in the book series, as I'm getting schooled on Patrick's team building framework
Any watch guys out here?
Posted the following to a Seiko FB group and it's up to 55 comments ... crazy!
Wanting to get a nicer Seiko and torn between these two:
Seiko Prospex Sea SPB453J1 1965 Heritage Diver's 40 MM Automatic Watch (right)
Seiko Prospex Sea SPB383J1 Dark Depths Automatic GMT 42 MM (left)
Leaning more towards the SPB383J1 but I'm new to this and would love some advice!
