Really thankful for this recognition from the Biological Sciences department at @uarkfulbright! Thanks to my PI @LewisLab for the nomination and support all these years!!
Had an amazing experience yesterday at @FASEBorg’s Science Policy Symposium discussing strategies for a sustainable biomedical workforce. Glad to have been part of such fruitful discussions!
Wrote this fun piece about Central American Independence for the Central American Student Alliance (CASA) at @UArkansas! Sharing here so it reaches a wider audience; I hope it’s informative for everyone! #HispanicHeritageMonth

AI can be used to make convincing looking fake data.
There is no way we can distinguish real from fake anymore.
It is safe to assume that genAI has already resulted in many fake papers. Scientific publishing is not prepared for this.
The Honduran government’s proposal to build a prison on an island more than 100mi from the coast is beyond ridiculous. This is an insult to one of our most unique natural wonders! Let’s hope the government reverses course and instead protects the rich biodiversity of Swan Island!
Además del inminente impacto ambiental que dejará el proyecto y la vulnerabilidad a los fenómenos naturales, sectores cuestionan viabilidad de la construcción

I have never met as many like-minded individuals as I did these past week at #TAGC24! Beyond science, our generation seems to be thinking in the right directions. The future of genetics and our world is bright due to such an incredible group of early career scientists!! 🧬🧪
Earlier this week promoting the importance of Latin American science and highlighting the elitist bias that still exists in our field!🧬
So glad we can have conversations like this at #TAGC24 thanks to the panel discussion about the past and present of eugenics!
