1/ I've been a student of #airassault in the #canadianarmy for some time, and thanks to great sources such as this one, have done some thinking on the VDV assault on #Hostomel. TLDR: AAslt remains relevant. The attack failed because of Russian errors. https://t.co/Of0ccNqGCF
@TheBuckYouWill@MarkJCarney Apologies! The material management technicians, not the supply techs. Trade name changes always take me some time to get used to!
@TheBuckYouWill@MarkJCarney It went ok. I returned my unused gear on Wednesday. The supply techs at Carling were professional and efficient, and I ran into a few friends I hadn't seen in a while when standing in line. I also have more space in my basement. So really well, actually.
Open Letter
To the President of the Russian Federation
From the President of Ukraine
When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine viewed you positively. That is how it was. But that is now in the past.
Now, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view it positively that our long-range drones paid a visit to the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. As you know very well, that distance is not the limit of our capabilities.
@CDNPolicyHawk@perfidiousleaf I'd push back on helos being too vulnerable for the mission. A well flown helicopter is very resilient, despite the videos we see on Twitter.
@fknorm50@CDNPolicyHawk Clearly I know more about this than you. This is the 2014 Wales Summit Declaration, signed in September 2014. It commits members to spending 2% of their GDP by 2024. Canada achieved this in FY 25/26. Ergo, we missed our NATO obligation by 1 (or 2) years.
