So a spot Bitcoin ETF is proposed by #BlackRock a day after #Prometheum , the "compliant" Crypto exchange testifies before congress. Just a week after SEC lawsuits against Coinbase and Binance. Maybe operation chokepoint is just a transfer of power from DEFI to tradfi?
Who needs the FOMC and the Federal Reserve when the Treasury can manage so much with a few words. In the long run, it is a weighing machine but there are lots of votes in the short term!
What if Google is actually at the frontier, but they are choosing to NOT release the models and just developing internal capabilities? Classic innovators dilemma.. Too much to lose by pushing the envelope for $GOOG
When software was expensive - thin, horizontal, best-of-breed software stacks extracted rents across every business.
Now that software is cheap - value moves to vertically integrated businesses that deliver opinionated end-to-end experiences.
Anthropic might have the frontier model but the real value it is producing is in the application layer.
Incumbent software companies are moving fast to catch up by copying the innovation of Anthropic and Open AI. Incumbents have the install base and the data to retain an edge without all the massive compute capex that the frontier is spending. The incumbents get revenue to organize the data while the models get paid to process the data.
Incentives drive results: The models are incentivized to token max and the saas are pushing for more efficient pre processing of that data!
I've spent too much time interrogating AI based agentic support bots and I am now convinced, the future valuable worker is the one that remains in the interface between the humans and the agents. Call them a FDE or whatever. This is the new HIGH VALUE job in short supply!
Reading @levie on a daily basis… the AI narrative he proposes seems so optimistic and rational. Seems like he needs to run a larger company than $BOX and transform a SaaS company to an Agent software service aka ass…
Will keep saying this, but software jobs aren’t going away. Agents are the single biggest form of leverage for anyone technical in history. Probably has never been a better time to be technical in terms of being able to accomplish something solo, in a team, or company.
We think that most of the world’s software has already been built and that agents will just reduce work from an existing pie. In fact, we are about to experience 100X more software than before.
Think about how many apps you regularly use that need to get better. How many legacy on prem systems that have to get replatformed for the cloud. How many SMBs never could hire developers. How many security issues are about to be uncovered and need to get patched. How many IT organizations are about to bring automation to workflows they never could have automated. How much data is about to processed and connected in most organizations. This is all what the agents will be working on.
And every one of those agents will need a person to kick them off, manage their work, orchestrate them, and get their output into a workable and useful form. That person will generally need to be technical (or become technical quickly), and this will create a huge amount of opportunity for anyone up to the task.
What a gangster move to combine @x and @xai . Use the inflated value of your AI startup to pay down the debt of your mature company that was priced too high and that sold its data at a big discount to your AI startup. The valuation of the combined unit is whatever you want!
Deleveraging is an excellent way to redistribute capital. It takes capital away from speculators with excessive risk and transfers it to new entrants. Drawdowns are good for crypto as it broadens the base. Why don't we see deleveraging in stocks or real estate?
A simple way to solve the affordability problem on housing: Allow anyone at retirement age to sell real estate without a tax impact, it just reduces the estate tax limits that most people won't hit. Lots of supply is owned by boomers that are waiting for a step up!
Alex took over our account for an hour. Now we're taking him over forever.
Welcome to Coinbase, @AlexOnchain.
(Legally we're required to point out that Alex has not technically joined forever and has a very normal employment contract with the company.)
Today, @jackmallers and @PrestonPysh discuss the formation and future of Twenty One and Strike: Bitcoin-native finance, governance, and sovereignty.

@EricBalchunas Suitcoining, what a great term! This is the second time today @TimmerFidelity has pushed the conversation towards terms like M2, store of value and interest rates.
Internet goes down at the kids school yesterday for about 30 hours and this morning @SFBART has a networking related outage for six hours. Someone might be cutting fiber? Related?
@dgt10011@SoftBank@tether This is a big deal. Note that Softbank carries significant leverage so they are short dollars despite large investments in USD entities. Masa Son knows asymmetric risk bets better than anyone!
