I’ve seen far fewer people making fun of those people—until I got back on Twitter. Certainly not just “exvangelical smear” tho

@DennyBurk @megbasham No leaders at all. I may have misunderstood the original post. My point was that rapture talk and weird speculation is pretty heavy among average folks who would self-describe as evangelical, at least in my rural town. Certainly not the case everywhere.

@DennyBurk @megbasham Sadly, it’s not. I pastor a small Baptist church in Southern Indiana. It’s been the most discussed thing for weeks now in these parts. Dozens of posts all over Facebook connecting the rapture and the eclipse.
