Continental Congress HAS SIGNED A DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!
The UNITED STATES are OFFICIALLY INDEPENDENT from BRITAIN.
LIBERTY BELLS ring out throughout Philadelphia; the streets ERUPT IN ECSTASY.
This is because the anti-capitalist left is not actually against people being crazy rich. They're against certain types of people being crazy rich.
Artists and athletes make sense to them because they've played music and sports and because their success can be explained by "luck" and "talent". Messi's wealth is not offensive to them because they understand Messi is much better at football than they are.
But when it comes to business, the anti-capitalist leftist has no framework for understanding why Jeff Bezos might be super rich since 99% of them have never ever created a product, business or service that was of value to other people. They've never taken entrepreneurial risk. They've never employed people and felt the burden of responsibility that comes with that. They've never pick up a business and given it a play in the way they've picked up a ball or a guitar.
They *literally* don't understand wealth creation. They think there is a fixed amount of money and the only thing a business does is split it unfairly.
It's why they rage at Elon and other successful business leaders. Because they genuinely don't understand why they're wealthy.
Also, and this is just as important, athletes and artists are disproportionately young, attractive, "diverse", left wing etc. Business leaders are "evil" middle aged white men whose success offends the average anti-capitalist leftist because they don't understand a) what it is they do and b) that Elon Musk has the same talent advantage on them as Messi does, it's just harder to measure.
It’s less surprising when you consider the current state of local policies, yet last November every (Denver) ballot initiative to expand social services passed by wide margins. Say a prayer for the tech-bro Dems like @tobinjstone who’ll sell out as fast as Wiener and find out even faster how they’re always expendable.
Colorado's beef industry defines entire communities across this state. It deserves a governor who understands that — and governs like it.
This week at the @ColoradoCattle Annual Convention in Loveland: water rights. Regulatory relief. Real representation on the boards that affect working lands every day. Multi-generational ranching protected.
The next four years decide the future of farming and ranching in Colorado. I'm running to make sure someone who gets it is making those calls.

@Adams_GOP The race was actually last weekend and SHE WON her very first pro race but unfortunately went down in the first corner of the second race. Sounds like she was banged up but is OK. https://t.co/7S3ZLyFwFq
We are so saddened by the passing of @lynn_bartels. She was the Grand Dame of Colorado politics and political reporting. I know she is already taking on the powers that be, finally at peace.
I remember the first time I met Lynn. It was during an arrest in Boulder on the Pearl Street Mall. Well that may be an exaggeration; it might not have been the first time we met, but I do know my first interview with her was a result of that arrest (and to be clear, it wasn’t me getting arrested). I’ll never forget my “coaching” from Dick Wadhams going into that interview!
Our bus tour together on the Allard campaign will forever be ingrained in my memory. Almost as good as the Wheat Tour we did with Sen. Bennet. And Lynn’s favorite picture of him in a field of sunflowers!
Lynn’s Rocky Mountain News Roll Call during my years at the state legislature was a must read. And Lynn was there every bit of the way - knowing where the ball was bouncing before any of us had even figured out there was a ball at all.
Our oldest daughter, Alyson, grew up with her in politics. Lynn was a timeless part of her life and her time sharing her Dad in public service would not have been the same without Lynn.
Her work defined Colorado politics, its leadership, and the intrigue of power. She did so with integrity and truth, without regard to “sides.”
She taught me how to work with the press, to help understand its role and she did so with gruff humor, discernment and wisdom.
She will always own the masthead of Colorado politics. And our state will forever be indebted to her for the work she did….and the work to come holding the pen in a better place.
I will always subscribe to the Lynn Bartels fan club!
Colfax BRT is slated to open this fall from Broadway to Colorado.
The finishing touch on this scar down the street will be construction of a cement curb down the middle of Colfax preventing left turns and crossing from north to south.
This physical blockade was new to me. I knew left turns would be restricted, but not that all crossings would be as well.
This really constrains how people can traverse the neighborhood, segregating north and south.
Honestly, I fucking hate BRT. I hate what’s been done to my neighborhood, and I urge anyone where this is proposed to object.
To save a few bus travelers minutes, tens of thousands of residents will have a harder time getting around their neighborhood by car, bike, scooter or wheelchair because they’re building a curb down the road.
