Ten years ago today, we dedicated the #911Memorial Museum and fulfilled a promise to 9/11 family members, rescue and recovery workers, and survivors to preserve the story of 9/11 for future generations. In this milestone moment, our next generation 9/11 Memorial & Museum Visionary Network Leadership Council penned a letter to New Yorkers inviting them to reconnect with the spirit of community that enveloped our city after 9/11 and join us for New York First Mondays.

Following the path first responders took to Ground Zero after the attacks, our 5K pays tribute to those killed, honors those who ran toward danger that fateful day, and plays an integral role in helping ensure future generations never forget the lessons or legacy of 9/11.

Tara Feinberg Edgette lost her father, Alan, an FDNY firefighter serving as aide to the Battalion 9 Chief, on 9/11. She describes the 5K as “a special and memorable experience, made even more significant when my daughter’s race number included my father’s FDNY badge number, 603.”
