Every once and a while (far to often as far as I'm concerned), we have to go to the back of the store and bring back the sign to put in the front window....
Canada's statement is a masterclass in selective outrage. It condemns Iranian strikes on Gulf energy infrastructure while remaining entirely silent on the illegal state terrorism and military assault on Iran by war criminals Israel and the United States that preceded and provoked them. It hypocrisy one-sided political positioning dressed up as principled concern.
The United States and Israel launched an unprovoked military attack on Iranian sovereign territory on February 28, 2026, targeting nuclear and military infrastructure in violation of international law and the UN Charter. Israel then escalated further by striking Iran's South Pars natural gas facilities civilian energy infrastructure shared with Qatar. Iran's response, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and retaliatory strikes, did not emerge from a vacuum. It emerged from a nation under active military assault fighting for its survival.
Canada's statement speaks of "de-escalation" while refusing to name the original escalation. It expresses being "appalled" by Iranian actions while offering no comparable condemnation of the strikes that killed Iranian children civilians and destroyed Iranian infrastructure. This double standard does not reflect the values Canada claims to uphold — it reflects the foreign policy of a country that has chosen a side and is unwilling to admit it.
True de-escalation requires honesty. It requires acknowledging that Iran is not the aggressor in this conflict. It requires calling on the United States and Israel to cease military operations. It requires Canada to use whatever diplomatic influence it claims to have not to contain Iran, but to restrain those who started this war.
Until Canada is willing to condemn all illegal uses of force equally and without exception, its calls for de-escalation ring hollow — and its credibility is precisely zero. #canpoli
Israeli forces detained 5 Palestinian kids - at the request of Israeli settlers. Their crime? Gathering wild vegetables.
The young boy who tries to save his friend at 0:15 shows more courage than the entire international community.
Shame on all of us.

Hoping that this is the beginning of a movement with some teeth. #CDPQ, and governments of Quebec and Canada - are you paying attention ?

Demander à bien à beaucoup de monde et vous allez entendre que la crise de logement est à cause de nos politiques d'immigration.
Mais oui, ce n'est pas la faute de propriétaires assoiffés de plus grands profits !

Macron is now indicating that a ceasefire in Gaza is a precondition for France to recognise the State of Palestine. What a gift to Netanyahu! All he needs do, to prevent the recognition of Palestine is ensure that there is no ceasefire in Gaza! https://t.co/dybc5gUs7S
Many western countries have been surpressing Palestinian voices for a long time. The over reach has been incredible. In the British Isles, will this be the straw that broke the camels back ?
Let's hope so !
Declaration of Conscience
My name is Gordon Dimmack. I am a journalist and a citizen of the UK. On Monday morning, I will walk into a police station and peacefully hand myself in.
Why? Because I support Palestine Action, and I have encouraged others to do the same.
Under the Terrorism Act, that now carries a potential 14-year prison sentence. Not for harming anyone. Not for inciting violence. But for supporting people who oppose genocide, and encouraging others to do so.
That is the state of this country in 2025.
I will not plead ignorance. I know the law. I know the risk. And I am making this decision with full awareness that the state may try to make an example of me.
Let them.
Because if we now live in a country where saying “I oppose genocide” is treated as a criminal act —
if peaceful solidarity with those who resist arms dealers is now considered terrorism —
then the problem isn’t me.
The problem is the law. The problem is the state.
The problem is the moral vacuum swallowing this country whole.
This is not just about Palestine Action.
This is about freedom of conscience, freedom of expression, and the criminalisation of moral clarity.
If they want to arrest me for standing on the side of humanity, they are welcome to.
But let the record show:
I will never apologise for doing the right thing.
Let history remember that I stood up.
And let it remember every name, every badge number, every uniform that tried to silence those who dared to say: Not in my name.
I oppose genocide.
I support Palestine Action.
And if that makes me a criminal — then so be it.
Australia has a GDP of around $1.9 trillion but a median wealth of $274K.
The US has a GDP of $30 trillion and a median wealth of $107K.
Despite being the richest country in the world by far, median wealth in the US is lower than many countries due to rampant wealth inequality.
An American was beaten to death by Israeli settlers while visiting family in Palestine. After attacking him, the settlers blocked paramedics from reaching him. We funnel billions in tax dollars to a country that fully supports terrorists like these who murder Americans.
