What I'm thinking tonight:
1/ I know it feels like the nation is unraveling. Yesterday's shooting was a watershed moment, but long before this moment, our politics had become dangerously hostile, zero sum, and too prone to violence.
The question is: what do we do?
A mayor taking $13,000 from a company he steered municipal contracts to: NOT A CRIME
Sleeping outside because you literally have no home: GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL
What it means for the Supreme Court to throw out #Chevron decision, undercutting federal regulators
and undoing 40 years of legal precedent.

Most impressive in Trump's trial are the citizens on the jury, doing their duty, showing a level of courage which, if others of us can attain it, will get us through this to a much better tomorrow.
12 ordinary new yorkers put their lives on hold & took on the herculean task serving on the jury of Donald Trump's first criminal trial.
This was an extraordinary and brave undertaking.
May they all be protected and appreciated for their service.
This is a quote from @greenpeaceusa ‘s own @whereisbenjo When the climate movement joins with the workers movement, real, equatable justice transition will possible.
“We have to speed the transition away from fossil fuels. So implementing this contract as a way to transition to EVs, where those workers see that there are good union jobs, is crucial. That’s why the UAW’s fight is our fight.”

Finally: public outcry over the Court's radicalism matters. Despite all claims, justices (e.g., Roberts) are well aware of the collapse of the Court's credibility. That SCOTUS did not finish demolishing VRA should remind us to be loud and angry over the Court's direction.
BREAKING: The US Supreme Court just rejected Alabama's gerrymandered congressional map, ruling the map violates the Voting Rights Act by diluting the voting strength of Black voters.
Congrats to @NAACP_LDF on this major win for voters!
WE WON!!! This is an outstanding win for our clients, incl’g named plaintiff Evan Milligan, Black voters in Alabama, voting rts advocates that worked w/ @NAACP_LDF on this case, and for LDF's Deputy Director of Litigation @RossDeuel, who argued the case. https://t.co/35MrrxLQoe
This is a critically important proposal. It would allow the Senate to approve (or reject) nominees en bloc and improve the efficiency of the nominations process while protecting the Senate’s Advice & Consent prerogative (and our national security).
urging journalists to actually look at what's in the debt-limit deal, and how its provisions compare to *existing law,* before pronouncing it good or bad for anyone, or deciding who "won" or "lost"
please and thank you
