Last night Maddox Graser had two hits and helped his Wooster High School baseball team win 10 to 0.
He was perfectly fine.
By 8 pm he was throwing up at home. It got worse fast. He was rushed to the hospital in Wooster and then life flighted to the Pediatric ICU at Akron Children’s Hospital this morning.
Maddox is a sophomore. A second baseman. A teammate. A son.
Right now he has no brain activity.
From a baseball field celebrating a win to a pediatric ICU fighting for his life in less than twelve hours. His family never saw this coming. Nobody did.
His mom and dad are sitting in that hospital right now needing every prayer they can get.
If you believe in miracles please stop scrolling right now and say one for Maddox. His family is pleading for them.

Just to add re: the new automatic draft registration. This was passed in the NDAA and was bipartisan.

It simply streamlines an already existing requirement. There’s plenty to be upset about, i don’t think this is one

I will say on the automatic draft registration: this is really a nothing burger. Every man has to register when they turn 18. If they don’t they can get penalties. This automates that.

Manamany Omot Abella, 08/10/1999, is one of two people charged with murder (2), attempted murder (2), and drive-by shooting for an incident in Austin MN on Friday that left one dead and two injured by gunfire.

You'll be shocked to learn: ABELLA SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN PRISON.

Abella has two prior convictions for being a felon in possession of a firearm, plus three convictions on felony narcotics.

Of course, he was tossed plea deals in aaaallll of the prior cases that resulted in him serving four sentences in four cases concurrently in the 2020 convictions. Plus he had other charges of drive-by shooting and 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon dismissed in the deals.

Sentenced to a total of 13.5 years in the four cases in 2020.

Not only was he allowed to serve the sentences concurrently by Judge Kevin Siefken AND only required to serve two-thirds of that:
#MNmath: 13.5 years = 40 months

BUT, insult to injury, @MinnCorrections in their great wisdom, granted Abella EARLY RELEASE. He was released from prison on early release in April 2022 after serving less than 20 months.

Our @MNCourts system is a joke.

And, meanwhile, #MNLeg and @GovTimWalz are enacting specious gun control while releasing violent criminals back into society.
