Trending today in Japan: Shigeru Fujimoto, 88 year day trader, who invests his 12 million USD in capital with his pet budgerigar on his head, says that Japanese stocks are in a bubble, and there will be a "2nd Black Monday." When?
Warren Buffett says he is likely to take his shareholding’s in the top five Japan trading houses beyond a previously agreed 10% limit, with the five agreeing to relax the limit he can buy.
A tremendous endorsement for Japanese stocks - this will make waves.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange released a 66-page Case Study PDF on How To Create Value For Shareholders.
There are examples from 28 companies in myriad industries.
This is a MUST READ if you're interested in JPY stocks.

I built a visionOS app, and it's been approved in time for launch on Friday. It's called Spatial Symphony, and it's a synthesizer controlled entirely through hand gestures 🤏🤌 I wrote about building the prototype, attending Apple's labs, and more here: https://t.co/xOF1fEIc1m
Japanese listed companies announced record share buybacks in 2023 per the Nikkei, reaching 9.6trn yen and 1,033 companies participating.
Improved capital allocation is likely an ongoing driver of Japanese stocks. Below are some of the largest buybacks underway:
yes Switch had a few things in its favour -1) WiiU was a disaster and fans wanted something new 2) portable games were viewed as over because of smartphones 3) BOTW launch title was one of the best of all time and 4) WiiU titles could be updated to boost the line-up. :)
@Christemple8 is there official Japanese translation of this is not financial advice? JP friend of mine is J-E translator of movies and of course I could help w/ crypto jargon. Just asking….
#Vitamins are expensive in 🇯🇵 , used to pick up lots when I returned to 🇬🇧 to see mum+dad, but as they passed away, haven't been back in 2 decades.
So I buy multivits, Omega-3, gummies etc. online.

Things I wish would (officially) come to 🇯🇵 :
- In-n-Out burgers
- Marks & Spencer (food)
- Duke Cannon (thick shower gel)
- Swarfega (hand cleaner)
- Trek Farley (Fat Bike)
- Charity shops (Oxfam, Cancer Relief etc.)
- Apple Vision Pro & Apple Card
- Ginsters Cornish pasties
Interesting Japanese company creating digital arts experiences… great potential for tourism, augmented experiences, lengthening hours of tourist sites (night experiences, paid admissions etc.) They could also get into corporate https://t.co/OGNU7E7lEH
This is nothing. I remember being on trading floor in 08, at the absolute worst of the crisis, and hearing people making 2 mill a year saying, "It's all over. I'm toast." and realizing even though they'd been making that for a few years, they'd leveraged up into fixed costs that consumed almost all of it.
When pushed a little more, the fixed costs were things like a $45K Hampton summer rental ("you gotta do that").
My small advice is, don't stop living like a grad student, or monk, or struggling artist. Both financially, and mentally. Because then, everything else beyond the necessities is gravy, and after awhile, you stop wanting gravy (except for a few special moments) because you realize it's empty.
