Commons Library Briefing Papers are an excellent source of impartial information. This on the UK-Rwanda Migration and Economic Development Partnership is illuminating. @mrjamesob see p4 "They will not be eligible for return to the UK."
When British right-wing populist leader Nigel Farage announced he was resigning as a lawmaker and triggering a special election in the face of a swirl of allegations over personal financing, he sought the high ground, saying his constituents “should be the judges of my actions.”
Instead, rival parties united in dismissing his actions as a stunt, leaving his only opponent to be a garbage-can wearing comedian whose policies include forcing rule-breaking cyclists to ride unicycles. https://t.co/ZY0Aq4PEqq
The pieces of this jigsaw are coming together
- last week Farage was briefing that he feared being found guilty by Standards and a byelection
- he also briefed one of the papers that a written contract about the gift being a gift existed - although again this is omitted from all other accounts by him
- I think that despite his statement about his top legal advice advising he was in the clear that the exact opposite has happened.
- that on it's own was not a particular problem but then suddenly Posh George became part of the questions asked.
- again fairly obvious that there have been undisclosed payments from him given he was on the election trail with Farage in Clacton and Ashfield
- again though that is not the primary concern reference Posh George - it is other 'donations' that appear as they could be as we now know NCA are involved.
- the outrage by Farage about his daughter may have carried weight if Fearge himself / team had not posted images of the house previously
- it makes motr sense that this massive deflection is to stall the investigation in respect of Posh George and his extended family....... remembering Farage says he is like a son and George is said to call him Daddy
- there could be much murkiness in financial disclosures ro come
It is truly heartbreaking.
How is this even possible in the UK? A country where citizens are expected to follow the rules, yet institutions seem to bypass them at every turn.
We once lived in a society where a politician would resign over a single inappropriate comment in a lift, a moment of accountability that now feels like a lifetime ago.
Today, and for years now, these institutions feel either corrupted, negligent, or held by those determined to break the very pillars of our democracy. We need accountability, not excuses.
The double standards have become the new status quo, and it is destroying the trust that holds this country together.
This is why we need independent, fearless reporting.
@josiahmortimer 's work on the failure of our parliamentary standards is the kind of rigour we need to hold power to account.
If my old school teacher were grading his work, she would give him a 10/10 for every piece, purely for his commitment to facts.
Support Byline Times, support real journalism, and share this to spread the word.
Gabriel, I am grateful for your work on this story. It is a vital piece of the puzzle that brings us closer to the truth.
However, many independent journalists who have been working on this for years are watching your sudden success with deep irony.
They are asking themselves what they did wrong. While they spent a decade uncovering these truths from the tireless work of @carolecadwalla and @peterjukes to the sharp investigations of @OneFinanceGuy, @nw_nicholas or @donmcgowan and many others, they were met with silence and isolation.
Now, it appears you and The Sunday Times are being hailed as the best journalists in the world for reporting what they have known, documented, and faced ridicule for so long.
As a citizen who has followed these independent voices for over a decade, I am compelled to ask a difficult question.
These journalists have been exposing the connections between @Nigel_Farage , the criminal underworld, US billionaires, the Epstein files, Trump, and Bannon for years.
They did not just face silence, they were actively gaslighted and portrayed as conspiracy theorists while holding onto hard, verifiable evidence.
The mainstream media did not just remain silent, they worked to conceal these facts and actively prevented the truth from reaching the public.
One must ask: if they were so deeply complicit in suppressing the truth for so long, are they not also part of the very circle they now report on?
Furthermore, Gabriel, I have a direct question for you: do you plan to investigate the role of Palantir and the situation in Cambridge?
These are key players who have surrounded Farage and were involved in recruiting for the Reform Party.
Why has this been kept in the dark?
Why is it that the mainstream media, which ignored and suppressed these findings for so long, has suddenly decided that this story is worth telling?
Was it the evidence itself, or did it simply take a green light from institutional authorities and media moguls like Murdoch for this narrative to become acceptable?
Let us be honest: a media mogul like Murdoch does not turn on a political asset like Farage unless there is a strategic shift.
If you try to tell me this is purely a matter of journalistic integrity and a commitment to the truth, please, do not make me laugh.
It is time to open the conversation about the true cost of Brexit. We see the results clearly now: the deliberate strategic goal to isolate the UK from the EU, particularly regarding our defence strategy.
It is time to hold accountable not only those who funded Farage and the Brexit campaign, but also those in the media and our institutions who not only remained silent but actively covered up these facts for ten years while the public was misled.
We must demand to know why it took so long for the truth to be treated with the seriousness it deserved, and who will answer for a decade of complicit silence.
Perhaps the @CountBinface could grace us with an answer, provided he can find his way out of the shadows to enlighten the British public.

Faithful representation of the interview…..more importantly, this is a really important by election, called by Farage for no good reason - Count Binface is the face now of the anti Farage movement. It’s Bin Day in Clacton. We can be rid of the hyper toxic Farage, with his legion of dodgy funders and his Trump mini me antics. Britain doesn't need this man in politics. Bag him and bin him…:)

@MichaelTakeMP Well said Sir Michael! Now ‘twould be great if you could just endorse Count Binface in the Clayton by-election as it would be a truly anti-establishment stance - as well as being truly anti-sleaze and anti-corruption. As a bonus, ‘twould also be anti-narcissistic politics. 🤔

The evidence strongly suggests Farage was indeed politically active during the 12 months before #GE2024 UK, contradicting the claim made by Reform UK (and echoed in his broader narrative of stepping back from "frontline" or "elected" politics).
The claim arises in the context of a 2026 scandal over alleged undeclared support (security, staff, accommodation, and other benefits) provided to Farage in 2023–2024 by his associate, convicted fraudster George Cottrell, who he describes as "like a son to me".
Reform UK has stated that Farage "was not politically active before he stood for parliament in the 2024 election" and "did not hold a political position until he stood for parliament," arguing that appropriate declarations were made.
Former Reform UK deputy leader Ben Habib has publicly disputed this, stating it is "wrong to claim Farage was not in politics when he accepted Cottrell’s largesse." Habib noted Farage was the largest shareholder in and director of Reform UK, controlled aspects of it, and was "instrumental in recruiting" figures like Lee Anderson. Habib argued Farage qualified as a "regulated donee" under Electoral Commission rules, requiring disclosure.
Farage has described returning to "frontline politics" around 2024 after years focused on broadcasting, writing, lecturing, and investing (post-Brexit), and has referenced running up personal costs for political efforts between 2021 and 2024. He formally announced his return as Reform UK leader and Clacton candidate on June 3, 2024.
Farage’s @X account shows consistent political engagement throughout the relevant period (roughly July 2023–early July 2024).
Here are a few representative examples from within the 12-month window:
Late December 2023 (well inside the period): Posts criticizing wind turbines as "useless," attacking Labour MP Chris Bryant as "the single most poisonous MP," praising Brexit supporter Tim Martin, and mocking then-Home Secretary James Cleverly over migrant crossings ("No boats today Mr Cleverly"). These are direct interventions in live UK political debates on energy, Parliament, and immigration.
May 2024 (immediately before his formal announcement): Posts promoting Reform UK rallies with Richard Tice, announcing policies on hiring British workers and fixing immigration, and commenting on the Trump verdict in political terms. He was actively amplifying Reform messaging and campaigning-adjacent content.
These are not isolated; searches return numerous other political posts on topics like migration, Brexit legacy, government criticism, and policy. He maintained a large following and used the platform for ongoing commentary.
Farage also hosted a regular political show on GB News throughout 2023–2024, delivering commentary on current affairs, immigration, and government policy. He participated in high-profile events like I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in late 2023 while remaining a visible political voice.
He remained a key public figure as Reform honorary president, majority shareholder, and director even after stepping back from formal leadership in 2021 (when Richard Tice took over). Reports and insiders describe him as influential in party direction and recruitment during this time.
The 12 months prior to polling day (roughly July 2023–July 2024) overlap exactly with the period of alleged support from Cottrell and Farage’s documented public/political output. His June 2024 announcement was a formal escalation to candidacy/leadership, not the start of activity.
The Reform/Farage phrasing appears to use a very narrow definition limited to holding formal elected office or official party leadership positions. Under this view, Farage was "out" after 2021 until standing in 2024. However, this conflicts with:
- The ordinary meaning of political activity (public commentary, social media engagement, party influence, media presence).
(Continued...)
"I took the money, I got caught taking the money, I couldn't think of a way of defending taking the money so, with the help of the British media I'm going to divert attention from taking the money by forcing a by-election and pretending I can't talk about the money because of it"
OFFICIAL APOLOGY: It has been brought to my attention by a number of people that Count Binface is not actually a real-life intergalactic space warrior whose form while visiting Earth takes the form of a talking trash receptacle. It is in fact a human comedian inside a costume who has a track record for writing political satire.
I know that this may come as a shock to many of you - I am still trying to process the news myself. However, I am truly grateful to everyone who has taken the time to personally ensure that I am aware of the facts, and I am genuinely sorry for anyone who I may have misled.
No. You are not standing against Farage, @LozzaFox. You are standing for him. To legitimise an electoral circus of your buddy, to save him from a public humiliation. Maybe other people don't know how close you and @Nigel_Farage are. This might help them understand:
Hannah Spencer has reminded everyone that Nigel Farage was already barely showing up to Parliament before he resigned as an MP
