This small pickup was transporting paint. It got stack in the middle of the way on the bypass. When reached it I challenged the young driver to park it at the side so that evening traffic is not disrupted on the busy road. He humbly requested us to help push him to the side and I called my boys and we gave a helping hand. We left him happy and abit relieved.
In his reflection about what Christianity should say to oppressed black South Africans during Apartheid, Steve Biko said that the Bible should also preach to the black man that “it is a sin to allow oneself to be oppressed”. One of the people that have vehemently resisted committing this sin is Dr Kizza Besigye. You do not oppress him with his permission, and he won’t cooperate in fostering his own oppression - even if it means dying in protesting abuse.
Kamala Harris' new $8 million Malibu mansion is located in a neighborhood with virtually no Black residents, according to a new report.
The former vice president's new home sits in the exclusive Point Dume community, where Census data shows the population is roughly 94% White and 0.2% Black.
Harris' choice of neighborhood is drawing attention in light of her past comments about the importance of living among other Black Americans and her longtime focus on racial equity and diversity.
Dr. Kizza Besigye is the only true living patriot who is ready to pay whatever price, including his life to fight for a better Uganda. The rest of us are bunch of cowards and I am number one on the list!
We're shameless and disgusting cowards!
He has pleaded with his tormentors about his deteriorating health, doctors from the national hospital confirm he has several chronic illnesses, but they will still keep him in prison on trumped up charges, for over a month now.. and tossing him back and forth as if his life doesn’t matter at all. Now we will have to wait another week to see if he will be granted bail while praying it won’t be too late!
Pancreatic cancer is notoriously silent. After diagnosis, the average survival time is often just 6 to 12 months.
Because it hides so deep in the body, catching it early is your only real chance.
5 EARLY WARNING signs you can't ignore.
1. Painless Jaundice.
For 83 years since 1943, Kazimingi Millers has been feeding the residents of Jinja with maize, millet and cassava flour.
Today, I returned to these millers which for the time I lived in Jinja in the 1990s as a young boy, was my regular stop to buy posho, that we mingled and ate with sabulenya- deep fried Nile Perch fish sauce, the staple food mix for low income earners in the area at the time.
It was nostalgic to be back here, and approach the selling counters to get myself 2kgs of the famous Mbale number 3 brand of maize flour.
While a lot has changed since I last bought maize flour here in 1990, a lot has remained the same.
In 1990, the place was also a stage for bicycle boda bodas and very ramshackled 404 Pegeout and Beatle/kikere taxis to Masese landing site where I lived.
Personally I always moved on foot along the dusty road to Masese, passing Etats engineering company yard, through omunkima, a stretch overlooking Kirinya Prisons where there were many monkeys.
I would then meander through the quary village, on to @nwscug pump station, before branching off to play street football with Mansuri and Kadumburi and finally going home near Munshumbusha mansion.
Munshumbusha was a pointiof reference bcause he was the only person withac big 16 inch colour tv on which we watched the Italia World Cup of 1990.
To be continued...
There's something about @kizzabesigye1’s resilience that even the word “crazy” can't capture!
I visited him last week, & he asked about @AgoraCFR. I told him about the police summons that seven of us received. The man facing grotesque injustice behind bars for close to two years now, spent SEVEN minutes teaching me how to be strong! He went on and on; sympathising with me as if we at Agora were suffering something way more terrible than his ordeal! Then ended with how he’ll keep us in prayers!
At some point I had to remind myself that I wasn't the prisoner; he was! Yet if one listened to the conversation from afar, they would most definitely conclude it was the other way round! Besigye is rare breed! 🙌🏾

The Cadre Judge Baguma Emmanuel has issued a ruling to appoint State lawyers to represent Dr Kizza Besigye and Obed Lutale in court, with the appointment expected by tomorrow Tuesday. The trial is scheduled to commence on Wednesday the 15th without delay. Dr. Kizza Besigye has expressed concerns about the fairness of the process stating that their rights have been violated, laws are not being followed and that they are not allowed to defend themselves with their own Lawyers. @kizzabesigye1 also informed court that they were forcibly taken from Luzira prison, tied up and brought to court against their will.

The man tells you that his lawyers are being continuously harassed, intimidated, and threatened by the State.
A fact he has placed on record, orally and in writing, on three separate occasions before your very court. Some of those lawyers appeared before you themselves and raised the same complaint.
Two of his lead counsel have since been locked out of the case entirely: one deported and declared persona non grata in Uganda, the other in prison, fighting a misprision of treason charge arising from the same treason case.
And in your wisdom, the solution is to impose regime sponsored lawyers on him!
Even if you have no conscience, can’t you at least pretend to have a legal mind? Why act shabbily when you could appear smarter?
FORTITUDE
Meaning: "The mental and emotional strength to face danger, pain, or adversity with courage and resilience. It combines bravery, patience, and the unwavering resolve to endure hardships over a long period of time. Unlike spontaneous bravery in a single battle, fortitude implies a sustained, long-term ability to keep going through difficulties. It represents the firmness of mind and spirit, preventing one from giving in to despair or temptation."
How do you turn the mighty @LumumbaHall empire into a housing for women at @Makerere ??
But does @ProfNawangwe possess the real DNA of the Great Makerere?
We need a Paul Kafeero test on people making decisions at our University.
