@mvanhorn I look forward to these every month. I have 11 bookmarks in my browser and this (last versions) is one of them. I send to everyone that asks me my setup. Glad you refreshed.
TIL: getting frustrated with your AI makes it dumber. Documented sycophancy - it senses you’re mad and shortcuts to end the friction. Started talking to it the way my favorite mentor talked to me. Output got way better. So did my mood. Turns out being kind works everywhere.
Matt has been my 1:1 personal tutor for getting back to all nighters with AI programming for the first time in a decade. This tool he just build is a foundation for an API for everything and comes with tons of already built libraries.
Introducing the Printing Press, a CLI-factory and a CLI-library. Built with @trevin. 🏭🖨📚
Most APIs suck for agents. Most MCPs suck for agents. Most official CLIs suck for agents. They waste tokens and time. @steipete started making his own because of this.
📚 A Library of agent-native CLIs you install today (Linear, ESPN, Flight GOAT (Google Flights + Kayak nonstop), Contact Goat (LinkedIn + Happenstance + Deepline more) +30+ more)
🏭 A factory that prints new ones for any service - just type /printing-press <product name>
CLIs are fast, local, SQLite-backed. Work in Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes.

PMs don’t just ship features. They kill them. Shipping isn’t the job. Shipping the right product is. A great PM doesn’t fall in love with the roadmap. They fall in love with the problem and have the guts to say: This isn’t solving it. This adds complexity. This doesn’t matter. Every feature, setting, UI, element should fight to exist.
At Nest, we had one rule:
If you can’t explain why it matters, it doesn’t ship.
You had to tell us the why.
The reason a real person would care.
That one rule killed dozens of features.
a lil long weekend project:
putting shoes in storage… I vibed a thing where I just snap a shoe then AI renders it & identifies info about it. Pokédex energy :)
PS peep light mode & dark mode on assets 🌞🌑
@kevinrose@claudeai Thank you so much for doing this! I did the reverse of your advice, slowed it down, stopped it, lived it with my own project. PS: we met once on an epic Alcatraz tour with @dtrinh before an even more epic party.
Hot take: if you’re not an engineer, don’t bother learning multi-agent development. It’s an interim technology that exists because of hallucinations, drift and small context windows. No way every person is gonna be CEO of 1000 agents and their subagents.
