The NIBS field now has a data repository!!! 🙌🥳 We have now officially launched 'Big NIBS data' - an open-access platform and repository for non-invasive brain stimulation data! https://t.co/HzqYDnsgpw. A thread 🧵 (also see preprint: https://t.co/pwnnZIpL1v)

Tärkeä viesti. Ilokaasun runsas hupikäyttö voi aiheuttaa erityisesti selkäytimen ja ääreishermoston vaurioita, joista voi seurata vaikeita ja pysyviä oireita.

In this study, fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) was safe, but did not improve Parkinson disease (PD) symptoms more than placebo. Improvements and microbiome changes after placebo warrant further research on FMT and bowel cleansing in PD. https://t.co/nUrHiMzhls
Cool result from @JJoutsa showing that rest tremor correlates with increased DAT binding (as opposed to other PD symptoms which correlate with decreased binding). Evidence of causal vs compensatory @Brain_Circuits?
Rest tremor is one of the cardinal motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and often responds to levodopa, but it does not seem to correlate with contralateral striatal dopamine deficit. @kallejniemi found something surprising. @MDJ_Journal https://t.co/igKJw9btgZ
@TurkuBrainlab@kallejniemi What does this finding mean — Compensatory mechanisms, interhemispheric connections, nondecussating pathways..? Our data can’t address this question but would love to hear thoughts from fellow neuroscientists!
