@AJamesMcCarthy The biggest puzzle is whether Americans could ever provide actual measurements or only ever analogies to other things. Next they will be telling us it is 1/200 the size of Rhode Island or the size of 35 elephants.
@skdh@Guy1234Hi Interesting in Finland there is a national e-prescription system for all doctors and pharmacies. The only time I ever get a written prescription is for our dogs from the vet. Case of Germany just being behind the times?
@skdh@dieworkwear We installed one in our house in Finland when we built it 20 years ago. We hardly ever power it on because drying outside in summer is cheaper (and better), and just hanging them inside on a clothes rack in winter is as convenient due to the low humidity.
@GrumpyNCynical@ChazakielDoremi No, because most dvd are copy protected and breaking the copy protection in order to read the content is itself a crime.
@EmmaRafowicz Physical media today is nothing more than a licensing dongle. The game on the disk is likely completely unusable without a day one patch which probably replaces the entire game. What are you going to play when they switch off the update servers.
@CConceptCreator@TechnicallyTee Good luck playing a PS4 or PS5 game in the future when you can’t get that day 1 patch that replaced the entire disk based version with something that actually runs.
@GameOvRMan@StephenSeanFord@Trevornoah@Shahryar The game you buy on disk isn’t the game you play, and it might not even be functional. Try playing anything without the constant updates required to even make that disk work.
This isn’t the 90’s where the thing shipped on those floppies was the actual software and no updates.
@jdpeterson@hugolowell@WIRED Good luck getting it to not do “fix this code”. It is sort of the entire point. And mostly they are pissed he hasn’t begged and crawled enough or paid enough bribes.
@CJHandmer What a load of complete bullshit. Elons wealth is completely paper and based on the bizarre cult of investors who ignore all actual returns on in their investment. If it isn’t taxable then it shouldn’t be able to be leveraged for loans, or the loans should be taxable income.
