CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed. We refer customers to the support portal for the latest updates and will continue to provide complete and continuous updates on our website. We further recommend organizations ensure they’re communicating with CrowdStrike representatives through official channels. Our team is fully mobilized to ensure the security and stability of CrowdStrike customers.
Just an important point on this as I’m seeing some misunderstandings: this is not a “Microsoft outage” (disclosure: I don’t work there or speak for them, Regional Directors are totally independent), it’s a CrowdStrike issue impacting Microsoft PCs.
Okay, I'm just going to throw this out there, but maybe - just maybe - a vendor having the ability to change every one of their kernel drivers in the field at the same time without any approval from IT/end users is a model we need to reconsider... @CrowdStrike.
Something super weird happening right now: just been called by several totally different media outlets in the last few minutes, all with Windows machines suddenly BSoD’ing (Blue Screen of Death). Anyone else seen this? Seems to be entering recovery mode:
@troyhunt Oh no, we’re on the tarmac in Canberra, Australia and they said we can’t take off until systems are restored. We were told it was a legal requirement for the system to be online before they could take off.

@UBank Are you having a call centre outage? I was on hold for 1h 20m yesterday before the call dropped and 50 mins so far today. When I called at 8am this morning it only said 10 people were in front, but still on hold.
@indolentdandy@UBank What's even worse is that they finally answered, and then the call dropped or they hung up. And now it says the wait is more than 2 hours. In theory it should call me back but I'm not holding my breath.
@MattyBDEPT While fixing a hole in a wall I found a @canberratimes newspaper in the wall dated December 19, 1989. Matthew Beckenham wins the under-14 800m 2min 4.3sec at an AIS interclub meeting. How random to find this in the wall!
@Bose_Australia how do I report firmware bugs in the portable home speaker? The latest release broke the voice assistant activation word when in sleep mode and the voice assistant timer. It’s been a month now and there is no indication that anything is being done to fix it.
