Why I Like to think of Stocks Like Farms

Andrew Carnegie built a steel empire through a stunningly simple principle: invest in what you know best.
He recognized that true wealth comes from mastering one domain and continuously reinvesting there. The ultimate competitive advantage isn't diversification, it’s depth.
The future of HVAC isn’t just about keeping things cool or warm; it’s about smart, sustainable, and scalable solutions. And after attending AHR 2025, one thing is clear—this industry is heating up in the best way possible. Dad joke for the win! https://t.co/a2UMORNL48 @ahrexpo
I love APIs, but as we move towards a more agent-based world, I think we'll see forward-thinking products and platforms offer an interface that's built for agents.
Today, we have robots.txt and sitemap.xml support. They provide instructions to webcrawlers.
Tomorrow, I can imagine us having an agents.json file on websites that provides a description of how to "talk" to the agent interface and what features are supported. Kind of like a discoverable REST API.
So, agents like OpenAI's Operator could then query that file first to see if there's an agentic interface, and if not, revert back to the less-optimal human-oriented one.
What'll be super-interesting is how agents will self-identify who they are and which human they're acting on behalf of -- hopefully, in a verifiable way. Sort of like OAuth for agents.
Fun times ahead!

Sam Altman says the most important ways people can prepare for the future of work is to learn to use AI tools and to create experiences, products and services that humans care about, rather than acquiring any specific knowledge, per tsarnick.
The WSJ did most comprehensive breakdown of how Francis Ford Coppola self-financed the $137m budget for Megalopolis:
▫️In 2021, Coppola merged his winery with Napa-based Delicato Family Wines
▫️Merged business valued at $650m
▫️Secured a $200m line of credit from a bank using his remaining stake in winery (he sold a piece as part of merger)
▫️He filmed in Georgia and bought a Days Inn hotel for $4m to house the cast and crew (such a baller move)
▫️After generous Georgia film subsidies, the film production budget totalled $107m
▫️He is spending another $17m on distribution and marketing costs (and balance of funds on various other expenses)
