This rules because
A) Lost IS, in fact, a banger; and
B) This dude so clearly internalized the pressure of what he was traded for. Could see it on floor and with the press since he arrived.
Finally gets to let let loose and pull down the curtain. Earned. Real.
@JustinVreeland@Yankees_realist@draftniks I’ll us your words and say the objectively horrible moves have positioned the team to remain flexible leading into future offseasons while allowing youth (which David Stearns curated) to step in and contribute without being clogged by aging players on long term contracts.
@JustinVreeland@Yankees_realist@draftniks The only reason this team is trying to compete this year is because of Steve’s money. The roster needed to be shaken up and because we have a billionaire owner we went out and overpaid (on short term flexible deals) to try and compete in the midst of a much needed rebuild
@JustinVreeland@Yankees_realist@draftniks Robert and Polonco were signed to be the bridge to the kids, how do we not recognize this. They were nowhere in his plans for the future of this team. Stearns didn’t pass on Alonso to build a team around Jorge Polonco. Didn’t trade Nimmo because Robert Jr was available
@draftniks@darrylstraw18 On the books for 1 year with a Billionaire owner NBD. How many more short term high AAV deals does Steve need to give out before we realize that’s how he intends to spend Unless your name is Juan Soto. But committing $150M + to an aging player for the next 5 years is a big deal
@Zeke99881237a Not recognizing Polonco and Robert jr as 1-2 year bridge guys is crazy. Plan was always for these young guys to take over at some point. Maybe not in 2026 but sometime soon. Hence why you sign Polonco to only a 2 yr deal and trade for LRjr with 1 year left on his extension.
@SleeperMets Tigers have shown an inability to make routine plays for 2 straight nights with arguably your fastest player on third and the play worked. Just a bad jump from Benge.
