@mnolangray Would be interested to hear how college football stadiums fit into this thesis. They're not exactly urban, but....
(I'm aware there are still oodles of parking lots involved)
@sleepy_devo This is worse because without the cramped text bubbles, it doesn’t look as much like something cropped out of a comic book. It looks like an internet comic strip.
Yeah maybe the joke is “tighter” but you lose some of the homage/mockery element
@SwannMarcus89 It should be any midwest state, red or blue. Half the battleground states are in the midwest, plus they're all relatively similar demographically
@Boris72947177 Ok then what is a public space? National parks? Once again, you can be “physically assaulted” if you “exist” in a national park without purchasing a pass.
@MattBruenig@BludSquirrel@mbateman@Sheesh_barak@TheStalwart@xwanyex You can be physically assaulted for “existing” in “public polygons”. For example non-students on school grounds, being in a public park after hours, being in a publicly owned unit that is rented out to an occupant who does not want you there.
@Anarchist_1418@EconTalker These seem like troll-ish questions because they have very easy to intuit answers. And so I will abide by a long-standing, self-imposed internet rule that has served me well. Auf wiedersehen
@Anarchist_1418@EconTalker Israel has limited resources. If it is flying sorties and dropping munitions on Iranian targets, it can't attack Hezbollah to the extent it would like. Now that it is disallowed from attacking Iran (temporarily), it can direct those limited resources to Hezbollah targets.
@SarahTheHaider@EvanDGrogan It seem like pretty straightforward tit-for-tat game theoretic strategy. If "eliminating" gerrymandering at a national level benefits Republicans, they might finally vote for it (I'm not sure what the impediments are to a stand-alone anti-gerrymandering bill)
@ScottHarri68844@mattyglesias If the strategy was to prevent Gaddafi from staying in power through massive killings of his citizens/subjects, then yes.
Was there some other secret strategy I am unaware of? Seems like it was pretty clearly to have the dictator lose, which is what happened
@RichardHanania Is there any evidence that disconfirms the allegation of the new supreme leader being a vegetable? Seems like we should get that issue settled first
@WhickTv It's not over! Trump allowed Israel to bomb Iran in the middle of "negotiating" last summer. Odds that he does something similar here (if he doesn't like Iran's offers) seems pretty high imo
@mtracey why was the US-Iran ceasefire agreement "supposed to include" fighting between Israel and Lebanon? Who agreed to that? It's a US-Iran ceasefire, not a Lebanon-Israel ceasefire.
If those two countries want to stop fighting each other, they can get their own ceasefire deal
