If you are complaining about Miss Universe Netherlands, then meet transgender Canadian beauty pageant contestant Jenna Talackova. Jenna is a Transgender woman.

11 years ago, in 2012, she was approved specifically by the owner of the Miss Universe Pageant to compete. Who was that owner?

You guessed it. DONALD TRUMP

It gets even more interesting, however.

After making the decision, Trump was asked about it, and said:
“I said we have 58 contestants in Canada, I said let her run and maybe she will win and if she wins, she will go to Miss Universe. And I think I made the right decision, I feel fine with the decision.”

Later, a woman named Olivia Culpo ended up winning the Miss USA Pageant in 2012, and upon winning, she made a statement explaining why transgender women should be able to compete. She stated:

“I do think that that would be fair [for transgender women to compete], but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women. But today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it’s a free country.”

Trump was asked about Culpo’s statement in 2012. He seemed to entirely agree, saying:

“She gave a great answer, a very tough question – on transgender – just the question everybody wants to hear, and she gave a great answer and she really did a great job. Her answer was a very intelligent answer and that’s one of the reasons I assume the judges picked her.”
