@TAM88991@cursedbyaclown1@OnlyInBOS The United Kingdom is Boston's second-largest inbound tourist market. Long-term reputational damage in that market is very possible with both England and Scotland playing at Boston Stadium. Their fans' experiences at the World Cup will be national news in the UK.
Re: City’s disallowed goal: If Haaland and Szoboszlai commit their fouls simultaneously, the officials would say it’s “six of one, half a dozen of the other” as they do at most set pieces.
The goal is effectively disallowed because EH doesn’t foul DS soon enough…
@Smooth_Booth@Jamesy_boy@DaleJohnsonBBC The situation is that the ball is already going into an unguarded goal without EH or DS touching it. The goal is given if they commit their respective fouls simultaneously, so why shouldn’t it be given if the defender gains an unfair advantage by fouling first?
@nffckez@DjallenDs I think Dias is lucky to get away with it, as was Jesus with his dissent and then high tackle on Foden, and Elliot Anderson with his braindead decision to give the ref a little shove after his booking.
The deciding factor for yellows seems to be how the ref feels in the moment.
