This is a crazy story about a photo that portrays the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians perfectly.
In 2008, Idan Raichel, one of Israel’s most beloved artists, volunteered to perform for children brought from Gaza by Save a Child’s Heart.
This organization saves kids from all over the world, including Palestinians, and brings them to Israel for life-saving treatments.
After the show, Raichel posed for a photo with one of the children and his father, a small moment, a beautiful picture, a memory of human kindness.
But now, years later, that picture has resurfaced and found in Gaza by the IDF.
It turns out the father was a Hamas operative, and the child Israel saved, the one who got a second chance at life, grew up to become a Hamas terrorist.
As Shabbat approaches, I’m thinking about the interconnectedness of the Jewish people, the empty chairs around Shabbat tables across Israel as 48 hostages remain held by Hamas, and the memory of Charlie Kirk.
I hope everyone has a peaceful Shabbat. ✡️💙🕯️🕯️
There must be severe consequences for the Iranian regime following the revelations it has carried out terror attacks against the Jewish community of Australia.
In a series of meetings today, I urged members of Australia’s Parliament across the political spectrum to take forceful action to designate the IRGC a terrorist organization and to protect the Jewish community. Special thanks to the Israel Allies Caucus for joining us in standing with Israel!
Jewish students around the world have borne the brunt of rising antisemitism since October 7, 2023.
It’s true in the U.S., it’s true in Europe, and it’s true here, in Australia.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to hear from our partners at @AUJS and learn first-hand how antisemitism has impacted their lives on and off campus.
Vile antisemitism from a mayoral appointee towards the only Jewish member of the CPS Board. Sorry that @ellenforedu had to deal with that. @ChicagosMayor should demand his appointed board member apologize for her sickening behavior.
I’m sick about today’s shooting in Minneapolis.
My heart aches for the families of the two children who were killed. I am praying for the 17 injured, including 14 children. I’m thinking of our friends in the Catholic community and wish there is more I could do than say I’m sorry that a killer attacked a Catholic school and church during mass, but I am so very, very sorry.
And I’m thinking of every victim, family member and survivor of gun violence from Parkland and the many communities who have suffered the enormity of loss that the Minneapolis community is feeling today.
And I’m so grateful for the heroism that helped save lives today.
No one should fear going to school.
No one should fear going to pray with their community.
Everyone should rally behind the many families who are feeling this pain or revisiting their own trauma tonight. I know that I am.

Pleased to share my latest report on religious freedom conditions in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, where religious minority life faces near-total extinction due to Houthi indoctrination campaigns, harassment & violence.
Wildly disappointed, yet not surprised, about the lack of honest journalism from The NY Times and other traditional media outlets. However, deeply respect @AJCGlobal and @AJCCEO for doing what’s right anyway.
For 670 days, Evyatar David has been starved and brutalized by Hamas terrorists. But the world’s biggest media outlets look the other way, so @AJCGlobal took out a full-page ad in the @nytimes. The world must bear witness to the plight of the hostages and demand: #BringThemHomeNOW!
Big tent doesn’t mean no boundaries.
“Globalize the intifada” is, as the Chairman says,
Reckless.
Dangerous.
A green light to terror.
It should be unequivocally condemned.
“There's no place for rhetoric that can be seen as a call to violence.”
But this is not about whether DNC Chair Ken Martin personally condemns antisemitism and the dangerous rhetoric that incites antisemitic violence. I’m glad that he does.
Leaders establish standards. They enunciate the values of their organization, values that run throughout. As party chair, they signal what is acceptable within normal political discourse. And they must hold people accountable for dangerous language that must never be normalized. This is true for both political parties.
Dangerous, violent language has no place in our politics—no matter who is targeted or who it comes from. Jews cannot be targeted as part of anyone’s politics.
We need all of our political leaders to make that crystal clear to everyone. It’s exactly what Chairman Martin must do now. Having a big tent doesn’t mean there are no boundaries.
This Father’s Day, as you hug your dad or hold your kids close, remember those who can’t.
Fathers like Kobi—and families across Israel and around the world—will never stop fighting until they are reunite with their loved ones held captive by Hamas.
53 hostages remain in Gaza and they need to come home NOW.
Many Jewish people understandably feel that America and Israel are among the few truly safe places they can call home.
Israel has been terrorized by Iran for decades, and an Iran with nuclear capabilities threatens the United States, the region, and our globe.
In my community, we believe strongly in the right to defend ourselves. If faced with a hostile neighbor developing nuclear weapons, anyone would rightfully take action to ensure the safety and security of themselves and their families.
I'm praying for the safety of U.S. personnel and the people of Israel – our only democratic ally in the Middle East.
Iran has vowed to destroy Israel. Its regime mocks the world by enriching uranium to dangerous levels in pursuit of a bomb. Its leaders urge “Death to America.”
Israel launched these strikes to defend its people. Just as the United States would. Any country facing the existential threat of an enemy vowing to destroy it closing in on the ability to do so would take bold action to defend itself. Israel, too, has that right.
Let’s stand with our ally. We stand with Israel. 🇺🇸🇮🇱💪🏼
“Whether from the political right, from the political left, from Christian nationalism, or extremism in the name of Islam, all threats to Jews’ safety and security demand a robust government response.”
AJC Senior Vice President of Policy and Political Affairs, @FishmanJulie, testified today before @HomelandDems and @HomelandGOP on the rising anti-Israel extremist threats to U.S. national security.
Antisemitism is not just a Jewish problem—it is a crisis for American democracy and requires a coordinated, whole-of-government approach to confront it.
Today, I was honored to join @SpeakerJohnson and Democratic Leader @RepJeffries at the bipartisan vigil on the Capitol steps—a powerful show of support for the Jewish community following the recent antisemitic attacks in Washington, D.C., and Boulder. Gathering in the heart of our democracy sent a clear message of solidarity. Such acts of pure hatred demand a unified response, and this gathering embodied the defiance and resilience we must show together. I’m grateful for @SpeakerJohnson and Democratic Leader @RepJeffries ' leadership and proud that we helped support this meaningful moment.
Another horrifying day. People peacefully protesting for the release of hostages were set on fire in Colorado. It makes me sad that in the year 2025 we STILL have to condemn antisemitism, and all hatred.
