We’ve been covering settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank for years.
But yesterday, we found ourselves on the menu.
A group of masked settlers beat our team and pummelled the 51 year old woman we were interviewing unconscious.
We’re all ok now - and Aida is out of the hospital - but this is just one incident among an unprecedented surge in settler violence across the West Bank.
Here’s out story on yesterday’s attack on Sunday Today on @NBCNews.

NEW: Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is finally defending streamer Hasan Piker, rejecting a “massive effort to cancel Hasan” and arguing that critics are deliberately distorting his views.
“They’re trying to equate him and David Duke and him and Nick Fuentes,” El-Sayed said. “The fact that they’re working so hard to character assassinate him suggests that there is a disjunct there between what he’s actually saying and what people hear him saying who actually pay attention.”
El-Sayed said Piker streams for hours every day, making it easy for opponents to selectively clip him: “Whenever anybody tries to cut you out of context, they’re never doing it in good faith.”
He also stressed that he agrees with Piker on a great deal: “There are a lot of things he says that I deeply agree with. People deserve health care. We shouldn’t be fighting dumb wars. The war in Iran is ridiculous. Donald Trump is a fascist. All true.”
While saying there are also comments he disagrees with, El-Sayed argued that “if you sat down with Hasan” and asked whether he hates particular groups of people, “it’s not what they’re trying to turn him into.”
He accused Republican opponent Mike Rogers of using guilt by association because he has “nothing to say about anything.”
Abdul El-Sayed on Hasan Piker: “I think we gotta stop with the cancel culture. When we play as if the whole person can be reduced down to a single soundbite that you took out of context, you’re not dealing with real life. There are a lot of things he says that I deeply agree with. People deserve healthcare, we shouldn’t be fighting dumb wars, the war in Iran is ridiculous, Donald Trump is a fascist. All true. There are things he said I disagree with. There are things he’s said he now disagrees with. The whole discourse is intended to confuse and distract us from the actual issues”
'Mayabang tayo kaya walang ipon?' @IBONFoundation's Sonny Africa responds to the statement of BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr. who said that Filipinos have less savings because of consumption culture and being "mayabang"
Stop saying stupid stuff like:
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."
Start saying:
"A free country doesn't track innocent citizens."
Notice how every Muslim political candidate has to publicly denounce antisemitism dozens of times, but Jewish political candidates are never question about for or expected to denounce Islamophobia..
Today is Fred Hampton’s birthday. He would have been 78. Instead, the American state killed him at 21 because he brought Black, Latino, and poor white people together to fight capitalism, not each other.
America loves stories of resistance. Until the resistance threatens the system.
✨@hasanthehun gives @RepSummerLee and @AyannaPressley their deserved flowers and highlights the fact that many amazing progressive politicians are often overlooked, especially Black women: "Summer Lee is one of my favorite congresspersons. She's brilliant. She's bold. She's brave. She stands by her principles and she never gets the media attention she deserves. Sometimes I think it might be by design; she's also a Black woman so I think that probably plays a role in that for sure. Ayanna Pressley, again, great congressperson. There are a lot of fighters and I don't know if they're being deliberately kept out of the spotlight to NOT show an alternative, and that they have to fight through that because we know what happens when someone DOES break through that machine; Zohran Mamdani is a great example of this."
So, having repeatedly sworn you wouldn’t engage with me and asked me not to tweet at you, you’re now attacking me and lying about me again. Your dishonesty is brazen, Fred.
Every time you and I ‘engage’ someone calls for me and my family’s deportation but I don’t blame you personally. If I said who was secretly funding you and your side’s attacks on me, you’d accuse me of antisemitism! But you happily push anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian smears.
You are a truly despicable and dishonest individual. You could just have been a champion of gun safety and the protection of kids after the tragic murder of your beloved daughter but you decided to become an apologist for the massacre of 20,000 Palestinian children who also have grieving parents left behind; you chose to accuse every Muslim opponent of yours online - me, Waj, AES - of being a terrorist and/or antisemite.
You really are living proof of ‘scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds’.
This chart, created by @zeteo_news, showing the list of politicians that have condemned Hasan and the lack of condemnations they've given to more hate filled, vitriolic figures speaks volumes. This is fucking insane.
Make No Mistake:
This obsession with @hasanthehun is happening for 2 reasons:
1) Dr. Abdul El-Sayed's race for is THE most important of the midterm elections. It will determine whether the Dems take back the Senate.
If the Dems take back the Senate, Trump is getting impeached.
2) The DSA endorsed candidates, like Dr. El Sayed, are threatening to BOTH Republicans AND Establishment Democrats.
THEY HAVE AN ENEMY IN COMMON.
Schumer & Jeffries and their defeatist, resigned, compromised way of politicking ain't gonna last very long once congresspeople who intend to get things done arrive.
The point is: THEY'RE TRYING TO TRICK US.
Both sides of the media want us to believe that Hasan is a Muslim terrorist, so that wel'll believe Dr. El-Sayed is a Muslim terrorist by association.
Every time Hasan's name is spoken, they want El-Sayed's to follow right behind it. It's a psychological persuasion trick people have used for centuries. I literally heard someone on the news the other day say, "Hasan Piker IS Abdul El-Sayed and Abdul El-Sayed IS Hasan Piker." (Honestly, I didn't even want to write that our because I know the psychological impact of statement like that - even when they're used in a separate context.)
And the Dems' strategy of, “stop talking about it,” is a ridiculous suggestion. It’s like WET PAINT don’t touch.
So what to do?
How about maybe showing people that El-Sayed associating with Piker is actually totally okay because...
HE'S NOT A MUSLIM TERRORIST LIKE HE'S BEEN PAINTED OUT TO BE and they just genuinely share more socialist minded political goals????
In most cases, the media could just play the whole damn clip of Hasan that's been edited, and show people he was, for example, reading a comment out loud by another user and wasn't speaking for himself.
But there are probably THOUSANDS of clips out there of him saying how he believes no innocents should every be harmed, how he cares about the safety of women, and Jewish people, and all the other people he's been accused of denouncing and condemning. Clips from every year he's been streaming over the past decade. People who watch him are all looking at this chaos and it's baffling to them because - if you actually do your homework to try to understand why people listen to Hasan, you'll see that there's nothing wrong at all with El-Sayed engaging with him.
Defending his association with Hasan is an impossible task for El-Sayed to do on his own -- especially with every side of the media coming down on him and putting him on the defensive about anti-semitism the moment he walks through the door -- even though, and you can quote me on this -- El Sayed has LITERALLY NEVER said anything Jewish people should consider threatening or problematic. Ever.
Which is why the discourse has now become -- oh actually statements about Israel's politics are anti-semitic -- because they literally have nothing els eon him.
Frankly, I don't even know Hasan. I haven't communicated with him at all outside of that 1 hour I spent in his studio. I just -- truly and honestly, with all my might -- cannot stand this Islamophobia. And I can't stand that my people - the JEWISH people - are being manipulated and scared into believing something that isnt true, so establishment Dems and Republicans can hold onto their seats.
I'm certain I'll get a ton of backlash for this post - as I have from every other -- But one day, the truth will come out.
And you can say we told you first.
* Talarico is up there - but is nowhere near as volatile.
The breakfast Club : People criticize you a lot. They say that you criticize capitalism but make millions of dollars streaming.
Hasan Piker: When I was broke I advocated for the poor and they said you are jealous of the wealthy. Now I'm financially successful and I say the exact same things and they say I'm a hypocrite. It's not about my financial circumstances. It's about what I'm saying.
Abdul El-Sayed: “To be anti-Israel is not the same as to be anti-Jewish. We have a responsibility to stand up and remind folks that Judaism and the Jewish people are a light unto the world, that my commitment to Jewish safety is the same as my commitment to my own daughter’s safety. I know what it’s like to be discriminated against for how I pray. But I do reject the idea that somehow criticizing Israel and Israel’s actions and a genocide that was perpetrated by our tax dollars is the same as the idea of rejecting anybody for their faith or their identity”
The third most influential creator in the world campaigns for democrats, but he opposes genocide and thinks Palestinians are human beings so of course the Democratic Party hates him

A group of neighborhood kids waited for Mayor Zohran Mamdani to finish at the campfire, and the moment he said hello, everything turned into joyful chaos.
There were screams, hugs and autograph requests coming from every direction, and the @nycmayor stopped to spend time with them before leaving Inwood Hill Park.
The sweetest possible ending to the evening.
in 3 years we went from "do you condemn hamas" to "do you condemn hasan" and israel is still a belligerent entity that is causing destruction, goading trump into war with iran & prominent dems are focusing on a critic of trump and israel instead of trump and israel itself. fools
We have an economy that rewards speculation over work. That is a fact.
We tax shareholders' capital gains at a lower rate than the income of nurses, cops & firefighters.
Workers share of national income is now only 43%.
This is at historic lows.
Democrats must run on an economic mission.
We will get the future economy working not just for a few billionaires, but for every American in every community.
We will launch the greatest economic project in generations to build ownership and security for the working class.
