Boieri, @CaImmunoprevent et al. demonstrate that CD4+ T helper cells directly block #breastcancer development by forcing the cancer cells to terminally differentiate. https://t.co/ykzBgS4ZsR

Tumor-associated macrophages present cancer cell antigen and drive cytotoxic T cell exhaustion. Check out our story from brilliant Briana Nixon, @dkuo@arihakimi and collaborators https://t.co/oKOKlO4F8S
Shout out to my wonderful wife for catching up to me with 8 miles left and dragging me across the finish line, and also keeping me out of the medical tent.
Tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) are immune cells found in tumors that can be expanded in the lab then reinfused into patients. This is the first randomized trial showing a benefit of #TILTherapy in patients with advanced #melanoma. #ESMO22 https://t.co/XvJKqMkjvn
Mind blown by @SWOG 1801. Congrats @DrSapnaPatel@EladSharonMD et al! Thinking ~ this all day & really wondering if should give 1 dose PD1+low dose ipi to all pt's w T3b/T4 #melanoma or clin + node bf resect. We need a trial PD1+ipi neoadj then STOP vs neo + adj PD1 ASAP! #ESMO22
What’s your fav gamma chain cytokine? With #SynBio from Leon Su/Chris Garcia lab and also co-led with Mikko Siurala/@carlhjune lab, we show in @nature that synthetic IL9R signaling endows #tcells w superior properties for cancer therapy @ToniRibas12 https://t.co/XQ6YoXhu2X
@roneymsi It is a small number of patients but we think the non responders did not benefit because their tumors were hidden from the T cells because of class I MHC down regulation.
The goal of this study was to see whether we could overcome resistance to PD-1 inhibitors in patients with metastatic merkel cell carcinoma by giving TCR transgenic tumor specific T cells
Dr. @joshrveatch is presenting "Merkel polyoma virus specific T cell receptor transgenic T cell therapy in PD-1 inhibitor refractory #Merkelcellcarcinoma" at #ASCO22. https://t.co/nWO2qtUmG4
The trial is open to patients with merkel cell carcinoma that is resistant to PD-1 inhibitors, and patients need to be virus positive and have HLA-A02. It requires coming to Seattle for treatment but the screening tests can be done remotely.
We are now enrolling in a new version of the trial which uses interferon gamma in combination with T cells as a strategy to upregulate class I MHC and see whether this allows the T cells to see the tumor and lead to benefit in more patients.
