@ProdigyGame In my ELA classroom, students would use headphones to listen along to audiobooks during SSR, focus while creating podcasts based on their book club picks, and watch videos to extend or reteach their learning during independent work time! :)
@am_csub@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Adriana! I love creating google forms! I've used it in the past for surveys at the end of the quarter and for assessments and it makes the process of collecting student data so easy :)
@Emras_CSUB@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Emily! I agree that Class Dojo is a great tool! I plan on teaching high school but even I intend on implementing it into my classroom so that students and parents can receive updates about what we're learning :)
@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted A4: The most rewarding quest for me has been #7- Creating a google site. I was not aware you could create a site using this platform and after doing it, I've realized how simple the process was. I think an online teaching portfolio will be a great tool in my career #csubEDTE4200
@Wendy_csub @JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Wendy! Flip is an awesome tech. for students. I think that it's very intuitive to use and there are some students would rather "present" using videos as opposed to speaking in person.
@j_moreno63 @JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Jorge! I agree that giving students a choice for a presentation is a great way to get students involved.
Most students are already familiar with PowerPoint/Google slides so it will make the assignment easier for them.
@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted A3: A student led activity that uses tech. is students creating and presenting presentations using Pear Deck. It allows for more interactive presentations i.e. Q&A, quizzes, and audio + video. This activity would address reading, writing, speaking, and listening #csubEDTE4200
@kathy_esquivel3@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Kat! I think Zoom is a great resource for virtual education. I also think, even now that class is back in person, Zoom would be great to use for parent conferences and to hold office/tutoring hours for students out of school hours.
@Jietongzhang@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Jietong! I also have really enjoyed using Kahoot in the past. Students always get very excited when we use it in the classroom.
@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted A2: Flip allows students to share their authentic voices, and to connect with and learn from others. It allows students time to think of what they want to say before they respond, as opposed to an immediate response in the classroom. #csubEDTE4200
@IsabelM_CSUB @JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Isabel! I haven't heard of Rubistar before but it sounds really cool, I'm going to check it out! And I agree that Canvas is a really great and intuitive tool as well :)
@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted A1: My favorite technology resource that I learned of this summer is ClassDojo. Not only does it have great classroom management features, it also allows teachers to communicate with students and parents which I think is very important! #csubEDTE4200
@am_csub@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted 9th grade was a little bit of a challenge the first semester as students were coming out of a middle school mentality and adjusting to hs but there were some really fun days! As long as you connect with your students and show them you care, youβll be fine in any grade level :)
@nurture_nae@JMaddern_CSUB@csubted Hi, Janae! Itβs so cool that you work in the mental health field! Mental health is super important and Iβm sure your students will benefit greatly from a teacher with your expertise :) #csubEDTE4200
