@NobuatAhmed Maybe instead of trying to have advantages in one aspect of life but not the other according to race, we should destruct the major systems in place, reeducate, and restart our society. Affirmative Action is a bandaid over a bullet wound, a useless attempt at mending a disaster.

@EberleBrent It is seen as a way to "want better" for their family member because they know being darker and "less white" meant less opportunities. Unfortunately, this has been a long-standing issue and still pervades the Latinx community.

@NobuatAhmed Yes! No more token black friends, token gay friends, etc. It's time to have these characters be fully realized and developed just as any other white or heterosexual or cisgender main character. Minorities are more than a tool for plot development.

@j_lepiors #socl214 Yes! As a Latina, it is so confusing when picking a category for things such as standardized tests etc., because sometimes there is White Latino and Non-White Latino and for someone in the middle, it can be a moment of unsureness and feeling like you don't belong.
