@FlyinginFordham Try looking at 6w multi light LED 12V bulb from Falcon Moth Traps? Were working great for me before this cold weather on the Broads. Still to be tested in proper mothing weather though. Depending upon trap and battery, would certainly be portable. Had poplar & eyed hawk already.
The European cuckoo is such a short visitor to the UK but what a fantastic #bird. The distinct call from the male is easily recognised but would you know the female call!!

@IreneBoston2 Lovely pics!
Somewhere I've never been. I rarely venture to that part of Norfolk despite my great grandparents being from Docking. They ended up moving to Norwich for quite a funny reason!!
@FlyinginFordham Very much agree about spending time in the garden with a net! But sometimes not always in the evening. Phyllonorycter quercifoliella & P. harisella found in the morning in my #Broadland#Norfolk#garden.
I had Pammene argyrana as well today.
@JamesMelville@Littleashgarden Totally wrong Helen. North Sea oil is owned by multi national companies and is sold on the world markets. We cannot control that however much we drill. We will always be tied to world fluctuations whilst we rely on oil & gas.
And yes I've worked offshore & in the industry.
@norfolkbirdtour Makes a change from being chased around a hotel at breakfast in Sabah, Borneo by an orangutan. It took a bit more perversion to move on though than your sun bear.
