Cyprus?
Besides spending a summer vacation in Ayia Napa around twenty years ago, I haven’t been back since.
But even from afar, some “red flags” seem pretty obvious:
🚩 Island divided by a frozen conflict
🚩 Turkish military occupying the north
🚩 Turkey Israel tensions rising
🚩 Greece Israel military cooperation deepening
🚩 Turkey pivoting toward a Saudi/Pakistan defence bloc
🚩 Major British military base on the island (RAF Akrotiri), already hit by an Iranian proxy Shahed drone
🚩 Middle East escalation literally next door
Beautiful island with apparently great nomad conditions, including attractive taxes. Geopolitically? 😬
Being a nomad obviously comes with one big advantage:
you can pack up and relocate pretty damn quickly.
But who wants another “Dubai is safe” moment? 🚀
Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭 also beautiful
and also considered an “island” (by some). 😉
>math professor spends a year on one of the hardest unsolved problems in math
>"Navier-Stokes"
>his drafts for the whole project went through codex sessions
>openai had his logs in codex
>suddenly rumor leaks AI solved it
>he emails openai to ask what's going on
>openai calls within days
>"funny story, our model also solved it"
>using his exact approach
>asks openai: did you train on my sessions?
>no answer
