@AddressingLife @CatrionaGolden I completely agree Tracy. My daughter has been struggling a lot since starting secondary school last year and we recently have an ADHD diagnosis. Although a lot of her challenges now make sense to me.. we don’t feel supported in school.
@vicmidnightsun Yep, I recently spotted a bunch of CO2 monitors piled on a table in our resource room. Not one charger in sight, no doubt ‘borrowed’ by folk to charge phones.
@jnaatus@JAlexanderPrin1@DrBradJohnson So very true. My kids’ school has a basketball court & huge green space. For many years it was used by the kids in the community outside of school hours to play on. It’s now fenced off to keep people out, leaving the kids of estates surrounding the schools with nowhere to play
@NIAMHBL@Kopp1969 Unfortunately that is true.. those who shout the loudest. I work with some of the most vulnerable children and those with parents who are relentless in advocating for their children are more likely to get access to services or new equipment.
@doogarry@kermit_kerm@HelenORahilly I was exact same a few weeks ago but also had cough. Had me floored for a week. Just miserable. Tested day 1, 3 & 5, swabbed throat & nose. Definitely wasnt Covid but still didn’t want to spread so stayed in room & used mask when around anyone. So many nasty viruses at the moment
@Philipmullen13@lindaosull88 The abuse was absolutely wrong however I fail to see how this is a great result. It emphasises how little regard there is for SNAs. A friend is doing this course and I’ve at times helped her.. no way does this merely warrant a Level 6 Special Purpose Award! It’s an insult
@SNAsSpeakOut In my school absent teachers are more often than not, substituted with a Special Needs Assistant as there are just not enough sub teachers out there
@hack_jacket@crazyhouseprice It’s appears properties not selling as quickly as some sellers would like. I know of two properties in Dublin which the sellers are struggling to sell. One has dropped the asking price by €60k since it went on the market 6 months ago.
@Independent_ie That just doesn’t resonate with so many these days. A dream perhaps but the reality for a lot of people including myself is just somewhere to call home. Anything half decent for my family instead of being forced to live with family would be nice @DarraghOBrienTD
@RoryHearne @irishexaminer Truly baffling! Too much conflict of interest with many TD’s also landlords so no motivation to change status quo. Those with multiple properties just can’t relate with people who can only dream of owning their own home.
@seafoid19 @C_Mee_Go Know someone who indeed clicked on the link as she was expecting a package and thought it was genuine.. the minute she put in her debit card details she got a feeling something was up. She rang BOI who confirmed her account (€2000) had been emptied 😱
@tazalot1981 @Ettel_wen@PaulTreyvaud @olddublinnews I agree. For the past 2 summers we went to West Cork and we were looking forward to going back this August. Not going to happen as just can’t find any affordable accommodation.. everything has shot up.
@irl_open @roisinanna @josephamadigan@NormaFoleyTD1@Education_Ire@cardagh @campaign4carrig @CarrollJennifer@padraigosull @PaulineTullyTD @Love1solidarity @joefla@markwall I can assure in my school there is very much the will to put children first. We do it every day. With the staff to pupil ratio needed in our school that would require having to source many staff who would be available and not working in June to come in for on the job training.
@irl_open @roisinanna @josephamadigan@NormaFoleyTD1@Education_Ire@cardagh @campaign4carrig @CarrollJennifer@padraigosull @PaulineTullyTD @Love1solidarity @joefla@markwall In our school it can take months for subs to get to grips with the complexity of our pupils’ medical & care needs and how to operate the various equipment. But somehow some believe that staff who don’t know our pupils can run JP just by showing up 🙄
